Hello everyone. I have an 02 x-type with a stock head unit. For some reason when I raise the volume up the volume automatically lowers itself to a safe volume. Is there a way to disable this feature or a wire behind the radio I can cut? Thanks in advance.

I never honestly noticed mine do this. I could blare it as loud as I want and nothing would happen just lots of poor sounding noise coming from the speakers. Wish I could help. You could always consider an aftermarket radio install! The sound quality of the speakers would improve tremendously!

Hold the power/volume button. You''ll see the option that allows you to change it.

Hey silverfox do you mean that when you raise the volume the bass cuts out as you get louder? Not the volume but bass? Every ford vehicle does this. I get around it by adding a pioneer head unit and calling it a day...
Hey spartan I still haven''t gotten a reaction on how the mb quarts I sent you are...are they any good or what?

sorry it took me so long to get back to everyone. It''s not the bass it the volume level in general. It mainly sounds like the highs.
