Would like to go to cross-drilled rotors (F&R) and ceramic pads on my '05 S-Type R.  Search after search for parts coming up empty.  Brembo website doesn't even list OEM replacement info.  I thought maybe I could get a new set of blanks and have them drilled.  That hasn't worked yet either.  I know it realistically would not result in that big of a performance gain.  Though a setup like that would result in less dust on my wheels and it would just plain look awesome!  Can anyone help?

There seem to be really only three choices - all with varying degrees of investment...

1> Disc Italia (BrakeWorld.com) lists a part number for cross drilled STR rotors.  Ready your wallet for $900/pr., if I remember correctly.

2> Frozen Rotors: takes OEMs and will cross drill for an additional fee.  I don't know what they will charge for the OEM rotors but it won't be cheap.

3> OEM: Non cross drilled and the lowest price I've ever seen at $333/pr (rears are less; i.e. all four otd for under $600) is through PAM Porsche Jaguar Parts in Las Vegas  http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=214626

FWIW, the dealer quoted $750 for the fronts and wouldn't budge - of course, they're the only game in town.

Maybe buy them at PAM and have a local shop cross-drill?

I actually called Brembo and they only source STR rotors through dealers.

Re: brake dust.  I switched to Akebono pads on all fours and dust is non-exisitent.

Good luck,

That's what forums like this are all about!  I appreciate the insight into my "problem."  I knew whatever I ended up going with would not be cheap.  Thanks!

The Akebono pads are great! No more brake dust.

I wouldn't recommend getting non drilled rotors and drilling them. Drilled rotors are cast with the knowledge that they will be drilled. Non drilled rotors that get drilled can get hot and actually shatter. Not pretty. Saw an Aston Martin that did just that.

Thanks for all the great advice.  I was curious about the effect of drilling stock blanks.  Not certain I would actually go that route anyway.  Like "they" say, "you gotta pay to play!"
