I recently purchased a 1986 XJS V12. The fuel tank was replaced prior too. I am getting a order of fuel in the trunk. All hoses connection are tight. Is there somethng else that should be looked at?

has there maybe been fuel spilled in the trunk? i once spilled gasoline in an ex girlfriends trunk, and it stunk for months.

Check the vent tube that runs from the tank to the filler neck, and also make sure the black boot got put back on right around the filler hole that is between top and inside of the trunk.
