I live in Mallorca,Spain, and I have a lovely v12 cab' but for the past couple of run outs I have had a real bad 'missing' problem when she is hot. Starts no prob and runs fine for about ten/fifteen mins then it starts missing when I accelerate. I checked the coil which was so bloody hot! I waited for it to cool off and checked the resistance across the + and - terminals and they were within the spec in the manual so I thought it was just too hot where it was so I moved it to the left wing and give it a run. Same thing happens. I read that these used to have a two coil set up and eurika! there was another coil inside the front grill but with the wires cut! I guess this was original but how do I get the correct coil for a single coil set up. I tried a non balast resistor coil from a freind but the car didnt run correctly at all. Do I need a ballast resistor coil? whats' the part number? or is there another cause of this problem? I would be gratefull for any help,as I dont have any other old Jag lovers out here to ask!
Regards Daren
