I own the "one off" 1988 xjs factory built(NOT HESS & EISENHARDT) convertible. Was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of this car. I have all the documentation  from Jaguar showing this to be true. Thanks, Greg

This is neither a Cabriolet or Hess & Eisenhardt. It is a 1988 factory built convertible shown with a 4242 warranty code, applicable to convertibles only.Again, this is a "one off" Factory built convertible. This is what is stated in my letter from the Jaguar archives.

GOOD MORNING, JUST WONDERED IF YOU RECEIVED THE LETTER AND IF YOU HAVE HAD A CHANCE TO READ IT? I TALKED WITH A GUY IN CALIFORNIA SEVERAL YEARS AGO THAT HAS BEEN IN THE JAG BUSINESS FOR MANY YEARS AND HE REMEMBERED SEEING THE CAR ON THE FRONT OF ONE OF HIS JAGUAR MAGAZINES BACK IN THE LATE 80's. HE EVEN REMEMBERED THE COLOR AND THE SPECIAL MOLDING ON IT WITHOUT ME TELLING HIM. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN STORAGE FOR ABOUT 8 YEARS NOW SO I'M SURE IT WILL NEED A FEW THINGS DONE BEFORE JUST TAKING IT FOR A CRUISE. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE ASK ME OVER THE YEARS WHAT THE CAR IS WORTH, BUT BEING A "ONE OFF" I JUST TELL THEM I HAVE NO IDEA. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME, GREG - PS: PLEASE REPLY WHEN YOU GET A CHANCE.

I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THE FACTORY JAGUAR TECH AFTER I EMAILED A COPY OF THE LETTER FROM THE JAGUAR ARCHIVES, BUT I WAS NOT SURPRISED. OTHER THAN THE JAG/ARCH., THE MAN IN CALIFORNIA YEARS AGO IS THE ONLY ONE I'VE TALKED WITH THAT KNEW ABOUT THIS CAR. ANYONE THAT MAY HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE AUTHENTICITY OF THIS CAR FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME. THANKS, GREGO
