2001 S type 4.0 engine swap

 OK guys I've made some progress on the engine swap , new 4.0 salvage replacement engine is IN there. Now i have a few questions i'm asking for some help with.
1. on top of the auto transmission there is a plastic vent hose, I broke the plastic fitting , Where doe the hose go ?? I hope it just vents to the ground and i will get new fitting and hose.
 
2.To hook up the starter  I have 2 insulated heavy wires under the vehicle (silver jacketed).  i know 1 goes to the starter, in a orange plastic cradle alond with a small wire, but where does the other 1 go . To me i cant see anyplace for it to mount, is it to a ground? or is there a bulk head im not seeing ?
 
3. When my old engine failed,  got very hot and went into fault mode shutting down 1/2 the cylinders, Now that ive got the replacement engine in there , should i be concerned of any reset for the computor, when i try and start with new engine , or because i took off batterey did this reset ??
