I have a 2001 XKR with 14K miles. The 2 headrests are not working--when I try to operate them it mkes a noise as if the motor is working but the head rests are not engaged. Same thing when I move the seats forward and the headrest automatically moves down.
Is this a major fix or something I may be able to do. The drivers headrest was working then just stopped and started acting like the passenger side.

It's not an easy job.
As of right now there are 2 fixes.
1. A new head rest motor.
2. Modify the head rest motor cable.
Do you have Select Edition? They cover it.
I'm not sure about aftermarket warranty cos.

modify the cable, to access, pull leather up starting from behind,
when motor is accessable, removed black cable and cut 12mm or
1/2 inch of the cable cover only. that will fix it.

Good luck, its not as easy as described, the ultimate fix is just to replace the motor and cable assy as a complete unit, but its not easy.
Beleave me, in the dealer no one wants to do this repair, they usually send it out to the Upholstry guy to do, although I did them all the time.
