I saw this add on motortrend and visited their website at turbonator.com. What do you guys think? Would you recommend something like this or use some kind of chip?

I just reckon ( my suspicious nature) sumthin that cheap for that much bhp gain????............sounds too good to be true.........usually, anything that sounds too good too be true...........usually is!

How is that Saab running? I kind of missed mine, but the Jag has been a good replacement so far.....

That looks to me like it would restrict airflow.
What I'm curious about is the guy on Ebay selling a so-called "Power Chip" for less than $10.

Saab's runnin fine mate........no probs whatsoever.just 63k trouble free motoring miles..........although I thini its time for a change.....lol
Never happy me!.......lol
Re the Turbonator (around $75 - $99)and so called power chip for $10???
I spent around £900 for ECU upgrade thru Saab to retain warranty, although there were / are companies that will do it for £400 or thereabouts.
I got 25 extra bhp and god knows how much more torque, but, plenty, I can assure you.
These guys are offering something like 15 extra bhp for essentially a few £'s.............I don't think so!!!!.......lol
You guys know the old saying.........Nothings for nothing, and If something looks too good to be true, it usually is.

Those $10 chips are bull. Our engines run optimally at 52 or 53 degrees Farenheit. These chips simply lie to the ecu and tell it that its at 52 degrees all of the time. It does make your engine run better, but the engine management unit controls how the engine runs at different temps for a reason.

Any ECU upgrades to your Jag guys?
racerx82

Arden.de has the one and only ECU upgrade. 35hp gain for only 1300

3/21/2007 10:30:52 AM
Probably because of how expensive it is!
racerx82
3/21/2007 8:42:18 PM
Well I have it and I love it...very noticable differance...I paid the price...and then some....
bigdreams05
3/21/2007 8:45:04 PM
Is it really worth the 1300 bucks? I'm sure you can find someone to chip the ECU for less than that!
racerx82
3/21/2007 8:52:10 PM
yeah, well wort it, but not worth that much cash....plus you will need to fed-x your ecu out to them, so you'll be down for 4 days!!....and no, you won't find anything else.....

What are the chances that if we start a riot......I'm going about it the wrong way. I mean, if we offer a group buy like 10 people put 500 bucks together, you think they'd bite. I don't think too many people get it at that high price. Also, what are the chances that the price will drop soon.

i would like to get one!!! hehehe.....so there is nothing out there cheaper for similar performance?
I would love 35 more ponies under the hood.
