I been looking at photos of the old jags, and I really love the ones with like one color on bottom and then that color but darker on like the top portion of the car.

I'm trying to figure out some way to do this with my car, would I just look crazy if it was like mint green on bottom and dark green on the top parts.

It would be cool to figure out some way of doing this that looked classy still, seems like the car companies stopped doing this.

Why not check with Jag online?
Check for original colours available for your year for that authentic look?

The authentic look would be a one color car.

I just want to figure out where the lines would be where u differentiate between the two ciolors.   Maybe at the door gaurd?

How do you think this color scheme would work.

Seperate at the door ding gaurd, then I was thinking black paint stripes along the little shape lines, IDKif they do hat when they paint cars.

I think that might actually get the classic look i want

This was my inspiration

The colors I would want would be like the one from the older 1959 model, the darker...paint (the computer program) offers only so many options.

And I was just finding a point of separation between the two colors...but good input Jack

Not really for me either 93.........but hey, we've all got different ideas!
Re the colours........I was speaking about original colours from the YOM to make it more authentic.......

Yea I know that, but I wanted to make something like classic, that still maintained authentic jag looking.

Cuz I could paint my car all racing green or all black, but I don't see that being worht over 1000 dollars, cuz my paint job isn't bad.  I don't love the color I have, and it has a few marks on it (what 14 year old car doesn't).  I would only want to have ti repainted right now if it was something really cool, and two toning came to mind.  But I guess that is a bad idea, lol

ive seen it done on a new s-type, and it look sick, i drove by it and pulled over to take a closer look. It had some 20's on it too (not chrome) and it looked clean, so clean that i cud actually see the dealer sellin em like that

Yea texascarsdirect.com is getting a two toned s type, but they don't have it in stock yet, and they don't have photos up yet...but i'm planning on posting those as soon as they get it.
But yea I doubt I'm going to even get this repainted any time soon, plus I want to get a sound system, and maybe Rims.  I just bout some degreasing armor all wheel cleaner, if that doesnt make my rims look great than I'm gunna start looking for wheels.

04 you seem like a wheel expert, how much does a decent set of like 17-18 inch rims cost?

it depends on what kind and brand you want. you can get them (rims only) as cheap as $500 to as expensive as $5000+. For a decent set you could probably get em for about $1200-1600 with tires. mine for 18's with tires cost $1900, but that was only because i got expensive tires, if i got a cheaper set of tires it cud have been $1500.

I just remembered my dad bought me brand new Bridgestone Portenza tires a few weeks ago, like 300 miles ago...So unless I see some sweet rims that are the exact same size as stock, I doubt I will be buying anything.  It wouldn't be worth buying all new tires when I have 40,000 miles left on my current ones.

$1000 seems pretty cheap for a full paint job.  You normally get what you pay for.  I think that the average cost for a decent paint job would be more than $1000.

I was just guessing, I havent gotten  a quote yet. I'm going to that Maaco, it's quality paint.  But I probably won't ever get a new paint job thinking about it.  Anything else, if my car dies, I can just take the parts off.  Rims, sterea, but paint can't be put on a different car.
