Hi all,
I have a 2004 X-type 3.0
I think it has the voice activation because there is a button on my steering wheel that shows a person talking. I didn't get an owners maunal with this car since I bought it from an auction....
I was reading a 2002 manual that said there is a list of certain commands for the voice control...
Does anyone know what they are?
Also, in the trunk I have the navigational system. The bracket is sits on is ready for a CD changer, the plugs are there and everything...any thoughts on where to get one besides the dealer? They are WAY too expensive there and I've been checking Ebay and have had no luck so far...
thanks!

What you see on the steering wheel is actualy the mute button for the radio and if you have it enabled the phone. You when you push that button, the radio will mute and phone will come on.
As for the nav system, i have been looking myself to get one but the only place that has them is the dealer or eBay. You might be taking a chance on eBay, never know if the code will work or if the sytem itself will work.
I did find that Pioneer Avic-d1 will work and it has many more features than the factory unit. I have one on order and will keep all posted.

mine has the navigation system all hooked up and working, it's the CD Changer that I am looking for. Where the nav. sets in the quarter panel, there's a bracket and plugs for one but I'm assuming it needs to be stock to fit.....
How do I know if it has the voice activation then since I always thought that was what that button was for?
Thanks

The button is for voice activation, but your system doesn't have it. When you push the phone button does the phone come on? If not, then you don't have voice...
