All of the models until now have been retro designed with the look of jaguar the xk doesn't look like a jaguar so yeah a leaper doesn't look right on it...To me all other models look better with a leaper than without...to me that is the trademark of the jaguar and they don't look right without it...kind of like how most people don't like the new jags because they don't look like jags...not that they don't like the looks of the car itself but because it says jag and doesn't look like a jag...

You just opened up a big can of worms, but let's just agree to disagree
I don't won't this to turn into a big argument.
My one point will be, the first generation of xk8s are styled just like a jag, they are the recreation of an E-type.
That's all I'm going to say.

The E-type never had a leaper from the factory. In fact, the Mark 2 and 420G or the 1960's was the last to have a factory leaper. Jaguar re-introduced them on the sedans only in 1995. No leapers from the factory on the XKE, XJS, nor XK8 variants. Jaguars ads for the XK8 superimposed the car over an XKE with the slogan "The cat is back."

New Series of Top Gear??
Off to set DVD recorder
I thought TOP Gear was off the air? Atleast according to their website? Those fellas are very funny and i get a good laugh from that program. I especially like when they were in norway and the stig drove that snowmobile off the jump...made me wonder if he had a set of chestnuts after that one. The one thing i dont like about that show is that they really dont like American cars. Hammond appears to be the only one.

Don't talk about topgear on here man, makes me so jealous.
The closest thing I have to top gear in US is horsepower TV. If anyone knowssomething better please tell me.
SORRY the closest thing we have is watching 5 minute clips of top gear on youtube
I thought it was available on the BBC? I wish PBS would show it God forbid. It would save my cable bill.

I thought it was on bbc or bbc2??? Don't have satellite so I'll never know!

I don't think it is, i'll look it up on bbc.com I guess.
They don't like American cars for good reasons, they usually suck.
They give certain cars props, like the Ford FT40, the new corvette, Rousch Mustang, and I think he liked the Bullitt mustang somewhat.
But they are a British show with a british audience, so they give the people what they want.

Yae I get american BBC here, never watch it tho, thats why i thought maybe I was missing something, but went on the Top Gear website and BBC.com/america and there was no topgear scheduled.
I was reading some of JC's articles on topgear's website, and he can really piss me off alot. All he does in some of the articles is insult American's, it;s not like we do that very much here.

Yeah 93, gotta give you that bud...he does tend to have a go at the yanks more than most. Dunno why, just his thing.
Sometimes I even think he goes to far. I keep sayin to myself , its only in fun, but then I wonder how I would feel if I were American
Please, do yourself a favour and try ( hard I know!) to not let that put you off the show, cos its otherwise a great showcase for cars / car lovers.
