You're a rare but sofisticated breed.  I'm fairly certain that a grand majority of enthusiasts out there don't know much about Jaguar and how "fiesty" they can be.  :)

Trust me...driving Gradma's Volvo, I get a lot of "WTF?" looks.

I'd welcome a little more traffic here, but not too much.  I'd hate to have this place overwhelmed with rampant assholery.  I've seen it happen with other automotive forums in the past.

I've seen several examples of assholery...but none compare to the wanton disruption of blatent duchebaggery!

93xj, even if we get 100 new members in a week, out those, I doubt that even one or two would actually come back and constantly post!  The truth is that most of the people that come on only get the info the need, and then drop us like bug!  I feel like a prostitute everytime some comes on, doesn't even introduce him/her self and starts asking questions...and then to kill it, they don't even say please or thank you!  The fact is, that those who actually stay around and chat with us are those few in the crowd that are actually very similar to us.  They understand us and want to continue to come back!  There fore, the more people that join, the merrier!  As a matter of fact, the more members, the more hits, the more visits, the more that our administrators get their advertising dollars.  No one wants to advertise on a site that only has 100 members.  If they see 10000 members, they're more willing and able to advertise and invest their dollars (or pounds or euros) on the site!

Actually, believe it or not 93, There are 1737 members.
It just seems sometimes that there are only " a couple of dozen of us" as those are the ones that visit, post and revisit regularly..lol
It'd be nice to see a lot more regulars for sure.

I guess gettin' more people for advertising would be good, I didn't know the companies actually looked at how many people posted and whast not when they decided what to pay.

Well, the reason that the Super bowl Commercial cost so much, isn't because it's the "SUPER BOWL", but because it's 250 million people watching worldwide!  If I'm selling laptops, I'd like to advertise on MSNBC and would be more willing to spend money there, than on PBS.  Likewise, for people that advertise on here.  The more the merrier!

I personally don't have a whole lot to contribute...and despite the "questionable" welcome I recieved, I enjoy the banter on this forum.

So many car boards these days defile the idea of auto enthusiasm (i.e. Volvospeed.com).  The only other board I consistently frequent and post on, is Socal3g.com - a 3rd generation Mitsubishi Eclipse forum.  2 cars ago, my Dodge Stratus R/T that I rebuilt was the same platform as the 3rd gen Eclipse and I made some pretty good friends there.  I actually still go to meets with them...I've hosted install meets and barbecues at my house because I have a 3 car garage and a compressor with air tools.  Over half of those people have moved on to different cars, ranging from Subarus, to Evos, to Trans Ams, to VW's, and even a couple Vettes.  The diversity makes that group what it is.

I hope I'm not intruding here too much...but this crowd seems a little more sophisticated and mature...and as I'm aging and changing my tastes to something a little more refined...I expect I'd have more in common with folks here than on Vtec boads!  LOL

LOL!  I'll admit, my arms weren't quite "OPENED", but hey...gotta give the rookies a hard time...especially if I'm having a rough day!  I have my nice days though!  As for the "mature crowd", who knows what days you're logging on, but you apparently haven't met Race...or Jim...or most of our other members!  Just kidding guys!

Biggie is right about the posters vs. those who sign up.  It's like the 80/20 in sales or pretty much any other event (be a Boy Scout Leader is what comes to mind).  It works both for and against you.  We will keep it in posting terms.  20% for your posters will answer 80% of the questions.  Maybe a better example is, as SoCal said we are all getting older, so try to throw a party and see if 80% or only 20% of who you invited show up!

About the other 20% of ure questions that u still need answered, you can bet ure arse ure goin to get some good comments about them (banter)

Don't worry, the mods can usually take care of them pretty easily.
