You’ve heard of the Pink Panther, but have you seen the pink Jaguar? If you could believe it, this 1973 XJ6 is actually adorned in factory color, and the guys at Everyday Driver were beyond pumped to drive it.

Right from the get go, aside from the color, the talk is immediately about how intriguing the British ’70s idea of luxury is on display inside. They call it a very “honest” car in the way that the screws are showing, the wood is real, the materials feel legit, and the door slams solidly. It’s beautiful, it’s elegant, and it’s exactly what a luxury sedan should look and feel like.

The XJ, which Jaguar made for decades was the top of the top. It has a 4.2-liter inline-6, but it had less than 200 horsepower, because the idea wasn’t to drive it hard. It was made for cruising and being noticed.

Straighten up your back, button up your top button, and breathe in the stately essence below.
