Jaguar Golf Cart Gives New Life to ’84 XJ6

It doesn’t exactly have the get-up-and-go of an F-Type, but this Jag will certainly get you from tee to green.

Okay, perhaps calling it a Jag is a bit disrespectful to other road-going models, but Bill Nixon’s Club Car Precedent golf cart, aka the Jag Cart, definitely pays homage to everyone’s favorite British kitty.

But what else are you going to do with all those spare Jag parts lying around, other than glue them onto a golf cart? That seems to have been Nixon’s thought process after owning more than 20 Jaguars since 1976, and having accumulated a number of spare parts.

Most of the Jag Cart’s parts — including portions of the grill, the hood ornament, and the headrests — come from Nixon’s old 1984 Jaguar XJ6, which was sadly totaled long ago. He also used the twin gas tank caps from the its dual-tanks as decoration along the back seat.

Nixon has also owned 11 Corvettes over the years, including his latest: a torch red 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51. While he still has a couple of Jags to choose from, Nixon decided to record the ‘Vette’s exhaust tone to keep handy on a tape player, just in case he needs to scare his fellow golfers.

So, out of the very sad demise of a good car gone too soon, comes renewed life. And now Nixon’s cart is the talk of the Narragansett Country Club in Warwick, Rhode Island. Even if his golf game is admittedly not.
