Default USB IN Strange behavior X-Type

Hi
I brought recently an '05 X-type and the previous owner had a built in USB In cable and possibly IPod and another S-Audio in lead in the armrest. I tryed the USB IN with hooking up a USB Stick in to it and switching to CDC on the Cd player (original) started and played the mp3 from the Stick. I removed the stick to add some more music but after reconnecting nothing happens!?
Possibly when deleting the old mp3's I deleted a file/folder that I shouldn't? Anybody has any idea?
2nd question: the CD player seems to play the mp3 discs but there is no sound, I mean it shows on the LCD the track nr and the playing info time and length but there is no sound? Audio cds play just fine and radio has sound to.
Thanks!

Hello, I have a 2005 x-type with navigation & alpine sound system and it doesn't play mp3 files too. It seems that Jaguar cuts the possibility to force to buy an ACM player.
