To you guys travelling down the New England Highway from Brisbane, there is always a steady stream of Highway patrol guys from Warwick, south through Stanthorpe down to the border. Not unusual to pass 4-6 roaming radars in that hour or so of driving as the speed limit changes between 100,90, 80,70 all the way through the Granite Belt area.
And very easy to miss some of the limit changes.

When you get into NSW remember the 50km/h limit in towns, fixed speed camera just inside the 50k area entering Tenterfield from the north, and more often than not hand helds beyond that.

Jim, coming from the south they are heavy handed from Glencoe all the way to north of Deepwater. Especially the long 80 kph area coming into Gen Innes from the south.

I know, I have spent the last 20 years regularly travelling the New England from Brisbane - Armidale and return to visit the MIL. Touch wood, never been caught on that road yet.

No need to warn Ken this is his stomping ground.

 

G'day from Singapore lads.

Internet not too bad out here after all once I am on shift. I bought a SIM card for my phone too as we are allowed it in the shipyard. Wifi in the bedroom is terrible so got to fit in my JF posts whilst at work when nobody is ringing me telling me something is broken every 5 minutes ha ha ha.

Well just to update things, I forgot to put down Ken's brother Rob which now makes 12 for the Commerical Boutique Saturday night. We have booked a table for 11 however 9LIVES I haven't heard from since November so if I don't hear from him we can just leave the booking as is I reckon. Either way we can always add 1 at the last minute as I don't think the Commerical Boutique would be booked out.

I'll leave 9LIVES up there for now unconfirmed.

Jim & Nina advise they are hoping to free up both the Friday & Monday around our weekend . . . as are all our lot . . . brother Rob is Sydney based but spending week with me (he is still mag editor for The Mid North Coast Rusty Iron Rally - he's down to his last half dozen tractors and dozens of Lister engines). Megs & Lisa are both Coffs based. We will all spend Friday & Sunday nights at my home in Inverell.

Plans look good for 4 of us in 2 Jags to meet up with Jim & Nina (XJ6) to meet in Glen Innes for Saturday coffee prior to touring together up to Tenterfield for lunch. Jim and I can update further as needed.

Any more starters . . . especially from northern NSW . . . Armidale, PMQ, North Coast?

Our posts crossed mate. That's great news . . . we can certainly link up with you & Nina both ways. Enough with the "oldies" Jim . . . if my socks and shoes keep getting further and further away from my feet . . . well, I'll be comin' barefoot!

And tell Nina she will love the Upper New England . . . big, open country . . . swathes of green pasture from all the rain . . . and a huge broad sky of beautiful blue without the grey haze of the city. After returning to Sydney for our kids' education, Pennant Hills after the Olympics was easily traded.
