Default Jaguars for sale other Members might like to see.

Post any Jaguar here you see for sale locally that other members may be interested in,

NOT YOUR OWN CAR

I'll start with this 1990 XJ40 in Ballina. Nice looking cheap car, higher mileage.

Default MkII (I think) at Dayboro

Spotted this what I think is a MKII during a fuel stop at Dayboro today.
The owner was lurking and had a bit of a chat. He doesn't do internet or advertise so just parked it out front with a sign.

SB 350/400 turbo trans, then he rattled off a list of other mods. The paint is old and cracked, but not a bad looking car. No obvious rust.

He wants
about 10 grand
Want to know any more give him a call. 0413 535 009

Geez 10k sounds pretty cheap for a Mark 2 although I could be mistaken. Wonder what condition it was in under the hood?

Crap I need a bigger garage lol!

Paul, 10k is too much IMO.

Cameron, that blue one has been floating around carsales.com for a long while. Not a pretty sight.

Default expensive XJS

Hi guys. I was snooping around and come across this XJS.

It would have to be the most expensive 1982 XJS HE i have seen advertised lately. It appears on paper in very good nick and sounds like they have re-done almost everything but seriously...almost $30k?

What do you guys think?

1983 Jaguar XJS HE

(not that im thinking of buying another XJS, just thought I'd share. I do like to perv on other Jags he he he)

'83 FHC? 234,000Km? Red? (NOT my fave colour in the sun fade dept) . . .
I agree with you Paul . . . or rather, with what you have been too polite to say.

"Tell him he's dreamin' . . . "

Makes your '85 look even better than it already is!
Regards,
Ken

I have to admit it caught my eye but...wow, for a pre marelli and not a convertible either! I used to not like the XJS in red, but now I have seen a few nice ones I think they are kinda cool. I know Grant has Red Devil which looks pretty neat I saw in a XJS book I have at home.

Heh so I noticed you guys put up the Mark II the other day that was $10k. This is my next choice in Jag and so I was wondering, what IS a reasonable price for a Mark II that you could hop in with no more to pay? Just ball park. I thought they were pretty expensive. (Hence why it sounds like the one the other day needed some work as Clarke mentioned) Clarke maybe we could go halves and restore it. Keep it at your house though

Just curious about what they are worth....

Hahahahaha . . . Thank God you asked me an easy one, Paul. In impeccable condition, such that there is no more to pay . . . ? Firstly, it doesn't exist Paul, but if it did . . . Ooooh, say $100K minimum. Check out the Red 60s S Type in my Albums. Second year up, a National Concours section winner. Started as an accident damaged car in otherwise good condition. Only took us 12 to 18 months of dedicated ground up work (and huge expense) to re-build it into this condition. However, all that was back in the late 70s.

Biggest problem with all these "compacts", starting with the Mk1 as in my avatar, then Mk2, S Type, 380, 420 was never mechanical . . . the XK engines were indestructible and the powertrain and other components also. Of course, from S Type on, they had the added advantage of caged IRS. By way of contrast, the Mk1 body was Jaguar's first foray into unitary construction and even in later derivatives was slow to iron out rust protection issues. Windows leaked; doors and boots rotted out; wheel wells, door sills and even floor pans disappeared . . . even here, with far drier and warmer climate than in the home market. My Mk1 joined me with a little over 100,000miles on it. It left me with over 250,000 miles, still strong, but the body took constant remediation.

In the real world, with maybe 300,000 miles in fair and worn condition, poor paint and only surface panel rust (best of luck there), and the value drops to say $2,000 to $5,000. I guess the final word should be directed to someone like Nick [Stoney85] who, via contacts in his home town of Bellingen near me, recently ended up with several - and a couple he didn't even need to pay for. I believe none are yet running, but if you follow what I am saying, that is the very least of any issues.

Don't get the idea I hate 'em . . . I love 'em,
Just that I lost my "rose coloured glasses" many years ago.

Best wishes,
Ken

Another Mark 2 in QLD. This time a 1961 Mark 2 that has only done 86 000 kms?

1961 Jaguar Mark II

I wonder what they mean by unique with no badge? It looks like it has a leaper and a growler in the photo

Still seems like a reasonable price at internet glance over...

Sorry Pal, just added a 2003 Honda Jazz to to the fleet today($800), but I have known the car since new. My daughter bought it off the nieghbour ,she goes for her driving test tomorrow.
On top of that my brother has just left me with his (Homolgation spec, super tourer 5 speed 2.6 V6 vectra with sequential gearbox),Nah, I'm not going to thrash it...............He paid around 70K for it back in 2003. It's on permanent loan to me now,his son had it on loan for the last 8 years so I get the job of bringing it back to it's former glory.

Sooner she passes the better! Saves me driving her places.
I have known the Jazz she bought from new,no surprises.

I'm more excited about the Vectra, not mine, and I get to do what I want with it.

$6500 !

I often wonder how people determine the value of a car they are selling. Myself, I search for similar year and mileage vehicles, then set my price at the lower end of what people are asking. And give a full service history, including receipts down to every nut and bolt I have bought.
Mine always sell on the first weekend they are advertised, just got to make it sound good and have a better looking car than ones around the same price.
I never take into account what I have spent, I recently sold a car for $3000 that had $1700 worth of parts and 20 hours of my labour a couple of months earlier. Plus $400 worth of rego still left on it.

On another note a really nice XJ8L went off on graysonline for 5K,looked the goods. Nice colour and had history, not that I was watching it! So XJ8 are starting to fall sharply.

Nice....always think the XJS and alot of other Jaguars look great in white. Looks almost identical to the 1985 model.

At first glance......the paint look pretty good. That coach stripe is intact! Maybe it has been redone? Looks like he has got the goldy/bronze coloured V12 and XJS badges? Starfish alloys, standard.

230 000 kms for 1987 model? Supposed it has been used a little but does'nt mean a great deal.
I could be jumping to conclusions but is that stainless steel exhaust pipes?

Looks like it has been reasonably looked after.

Also noticed same seller is selling an Alfa Romeo....

Geez if she is alright under the bonnet not a bad price.
