Default Mark 2 $20k

G'day guys. Not sure if you seen this one but there is a 3.8 Litre Mark 2 for sale at the Yandina Ginger Factory (Queensland) for $20 000 (see paper on dash). It's actually in the "Motor Shed" which is a car collectibles shop inside the complex.

Just be careful you don't slip on my drool as you look at it lol

I have read the 3.8 litre was the best of the Mark 2 bunch (Grant?) and has all round disc brakes.

From a quick look(behind a shin high picket fence) she looks its age and i would say it is not "immaculate" but then again may be worth a look. My Mrs gave me the death stare when I hinted on taking it home lol!

Also a really cool shop. Saw two 1:18 scale XJS (Green and a Silver one) a 1:18 scale XJ220, two Jaguar number plates and a parking sign which i bought.

ALso saw a jaguar key ring and growler sow on badge

Mmm....Looks tidy. He has installed the aftermarket Chrome wheel arches on his. Same sapphire blue metallic paint by the looks. It has more mileage than my 85 too, so looks like it has been well used. (Mine was about 194 000 when i got it) I guess that can be a good thing and a bad thing. Growler installed...good taste

Bad point? This car hasn't been touched by the Wizard of Oz !

A quick look at the under the bonnet picture looks as if it hasn't been changed too much. I see the Ignition Amplifier is in it's original spot on the intake manifold (looks pretty black) and it appears the Atmospheric overflow is still installed near the wheel as I can only see the windscreen wiper reservoir. I'm guessing it still uses the singular radiator fan? Price sounds about right though, from memory when I was looking.

Might be ok. Looks nice on paper.

But...There can be only one Blue Goose!

mmm....pre HE, very low miles for 1977 wow.

American headlight conversion done.

Strange I thought wood grain interior wasn't on the pre HE years?

Geez it looks in pretty good shape though.

This one "looks" even nicer up in Bundy, but they mention it needs some work:

A father of a colleague at work is selling this 1985 JAGUAR SOVEREIGN 4.2 in Mount Cotton QLD FOR SALE - JustCars.com.au.

I haven't seen it but thought I would chuck it up here if anyone was interested.

Default What was I thinking?

Why did I search XKR on carsales.com????? I was actually looking for XJS's.

It threw up this less than 100km from home and Her Indoors is now thinking two silver Jags will look pretty good parked side by side. She thinks it is a cute car, I think it will be great for Euro day at the local race track next time out.

Can't afford it unless one of you want to buy a good looking kid, I don't mind which one. I don't have a fav!( just joking)

You would have to pay me to take one
An XKR would be a suitable down payment though !!

Cheers

That would make a nice matching pair Clarke!

2001 model too. All plastic timing chain tensioner issues sorted by then I believe.

I have an old S type Jaguar I want to sell, so I can focus on doing something with the 3 MK2's I own.

Trying to put a price on it though is hard, we purchased it as part of a group buy, and the known history of it is lacking a bit. Last time it was on the road was only 4-5 years ago and parked up due to a fuel issue.
Carbs are rebuilt and sitting in a sealed box, so I plan on going over the car, checking out the fuel system, wiring etc and seeing if I can get it running again.
It has later 4.2 in it with a manual gearbox.

I tentatively put an asking price of $6k ono on it, but feel that's quite a big ask for a non runner so that's why I will spend some time fixing it.

Open to offers too

Default Not sure if it X300 or X308

This one popped up for sale over the weekend, from what I can see both X300 & X308 were built in 97'. How do you tell the difference.

As much as it dreads me to do this, I might be putting up my group of Jaguars for sale as a lot, the reason being they are mostly stored at the previous owners shed, and unforeseen things have delayed us building our own shed to have a place to work on them anytime in the near future.

-Complete Jaguar S-type, 4.2Litre and manual box, needs fuel system reassembly and check over to be running again, rebuilt carbs, excellent chromework
-Numbers matching 3.4 auto MK2 with rebuilt motor with 0kms on it, shell has been fully rust/panel repaired, panels all aligned, immaculate starting base for a perfect restoration, still in primer and boxes of parts
-MK2 3.8 Auto, whole new braking system, VH40 booster, Volvo front brakes, carbs rebuilt, complete runner, but needs an engine and trans reseal from sitting for years, leaks oil, diff resealed, some suspension bushes replaced
-MK2 2.4 auto, complete car, but recommended to be a parts car for the other two MK2s as it has firewall damage, yet is visually straight from the outside, (maybe new outer panels while leaving the damaged firewall after an accident?)
-1985 XJ6, had gotten this on the off chance I would use the suspension and driveline in one of the older cars, rust destroyed, gutted, basically just a rolling shell to keep all the driveline components easily moveable

Great for some one with the space to actually work on them, I'm not motivated now as I have a carport at home or a dry storage shed 15kms away where they are located, not enjoyable working conditions.

Asking $25k for the lot, have a car trailer too, so could help within reason with transport, all cars are complete rollers, but non runners.

This week I will be taking some decent photos, if the weather cooperates.

Pics and more info easily available

Heh Stoney, you splitting them up or selling them as a package deal only?

Heh Clarke or James....wanna go halves in a Mark 2 or S type and restore it?

Would definitely split the S type as it's not relevant to the restoration of the MK2's, and the XJ6 someone can have for a small fee

Looking like a deal has been done to a forum member, another parts car saved from the crusher.
