Default Lakeside's Euro Day - Sunday 23 April 2017

Once again the Euro Day is on at Lakeside Raceway.
Previous years have been great fun and a chance to stretch the legs on a few of our Jaguars.

It isn't just for sports cars. There are plenty of normal European family sedans and coupes.

Past years have seen us take the "VIP Package" which gives multiple cruise sessions and covered bays.
Last year was very wet but still good fun.

Hopefully we can get a few along again.

Details below from the event facebook page.

Geez it has came around fast!

If I am home I am there!

If we do the same as last year we can ring up and order the VIP package so as to park in the bays and also mention we are with Jaguar Forums so hopefully they can put us all together again.

Let me get back to you and check my calendar to confirm if I can make it (fingers crossed).

So looks like we have so far:

1) Champir
2) o1xjr
3) paulyling (TBC)

I'll send an email out this week to the QLD members reminding them.

Thanks for posting and reminding Champir!

Good stuff James!

You will have to represent the Sunny Coast racing team as I will be working. I am sure you'll tear that track up again!

Don't forget to take some great photos for me to look at on sub par WiFi in a Singapore Shipyard to make me jealous!

Ok guys I have just sent a message to all our QLD members.

Again, I apologise I can't make it. I would suggest as in previous years to ring up 1800 RACEWAYS to book the VIP pass and mention you're with Jaguar Forums so we can all park together. Seem to work a treat last year.

The usual meeting spot in previous years was the Kallangur McDonalds.

Link for Raceway is here:

Lakeside Park | Queensland Raceways

Hopefully we'll build up a fleet between then and now...

I'm making my booking tomorrow.

Looking forward to getting lapped by all sorts of awd euro trash again. While going as fast as an auto XJ6 can.

An Issue has cropped up with my XJR

Both the 4 o2 sensors have failed
Have traced it down to a failed relay that supplies the power to the sensors
Normally thats a simple fix but this relay is not replaceable (pcb mounted)

Jag recommend a new front fusesebox ($800+), thats not going to happen!!!

For now im using a standard relay to supply power, bypassing the oem one. Thats ok for the road as a temporary repair but wont hold up on the track

I will be pulling the fuse box next week, strip it down and solder in a new relay
So I expect to be ready

Cheers

The XJR has 3 fuseboxes
The front one has 14 relays
Relays 1 to 8 are standard automotive types
Relays 9 to 14 are pcb mounted and only accessible by stripping down the fusebox

Wont be much of a bother as they are mini din pcb types.
The plan is to replace all of them wile I have the PCB out

A couple of other things while I have it apart
Replace the 3 main earth studs with stainless bolts (body is alloy)
Replace the HID bulbs and one of the ballasts
Upgrade the low beam bulbs to 6000K halogens (to get rid of the yellow glow compared to the HID low beams)

Not a big job all up, Ill probably get it done late next week as im waiting on a part that I wanted to fit before lakeside that will automate the intercooler spray. Hoping to fit that in time as well

Cheers

Guys, Unfortunately I am going to be a late scratching as I have to travel for work next weekend.

Shame, as I was really looking forward to stretching the legs on the XKR.
Enjoy.

Sorry to hear bud. Thanks for posting though.

Looks like it might be a quiet showing for Jaguars but none the less still worth the outing. My apologies too for not being able to attend. Wrong country at the moment!
