Default Time for introductions all round

As you may have noticed, th Australian section has been divided into state sections.

I have taken on the role as South Australia/Northern Territory Regional Co-ordinator role.

I reckon the best start is to introduce, or re-introduce, ourselves. Stating your name, location, car/s, etc.

This will also assist us to fine tune our data base.

I will start it off.

I have been Jaguar since 1968.
Almost retired from the Automotive Spare Parts Industry.
Currently have 2 S Types, and an X300.
I do all the maintenance, and have done so for as long as I can remember.
A "book" as such, is being compiled by myself, of all the Jaguar undertakings I have done over the years, so that this forum, and others can use the information.

I/we are in Burton, northern suburb of Adelaide.

If interest is sufficient a gathering will/can be organised.

I've only been in a Jag since September last year, my name is Kim.
I have a 2010 XFS, Vapour Grey, with 20" Coventry Whitley wheels, Eibach springs, tuning chip, XFR rear bumper insert, straight through rear mufflers, quad exhaust tips, and many cosmetic modifications, mainly chrome and stainless steel bits & pieces.
I also do most servicing and maintenance myself, first thing I did when I picked the car up was change the oil and all four filters (oil, air, fuel & pollen), as I received no detailed service records so I had no way of telling what had and hadn't been done. I also renewed the front brake rotors (they were within 2mm of legal thickness) and all four sets of brake pads, as the front pads were shot and all were very dusty.
I've never been in the automotive game, just a keen amateur back yarder.
I retired from work 2 weeks ago, and I'm now a self-funded retiree.
I live at Mawson Lakes, a northern suburb of Adelaide and not all that far from Grant at Burton.
I'm a member of two other Jag forums besides this one, and as far as I can tell I am the only SA XF owning member.
Forgot to mention, I have custom rego plates "JAGXFS".

Nice one Grant, great idea to get a roll call thread going here.....

Might I suggest the following....

Having a list as such, with numbers and members names. This can be added to as and when another member pops in with a post, simply copy n paste and add the latest member.

That way, there will be a running total of all members within the section, as below...

1. Grant Francis
2. OzXFS
3.
4.
5.

I hope this is ok and you will run with it Grant, If not and you want to do it your way, please let me know and I will delete this post if required.

Thanks

Jim

Thank you Kim,

Nice car that XF, and YES, I have seen it around.

Being retired also (mostly) we frequent Cafe Primo at Mawson Lakes, LUV the Oysters, so if you see the Black beast (DD682C) say hello, we dont bite, really. All the staff know us too well, and the Jags.

Um, Jim,

Thanks for that, good idea.

DONT delete anything, as I get confused real easy past the ON/OFF button, and still learning this "copy/paste" thing. As I said many times, me and "I T", are NOT a match made in heaven.

No problem Grant, I'll tidy this up later.

In the meantime, don't worry too much about pc literacy. If you have any problems please ask any of the mods or myself and we'll be more than happy to help where we can
Best

Jim

Hi guys,
Been in a XJ40 for two years but it was in a sorry state before and still trying to get it better! Didn't help when some idiot pulled in front of me and then stopped dead! Rebuilt it. Its a 3.2L, '93 model in Westminster grey and Dorcester seats. Always loved Jags as a kid but they are too expensive to run in the UK. Been here 7 years and had the chance to get this one.

Welcome aboard.

Not good when ferals do that in traffic.

Sadly the '40 does get unloved here, no idea why?. A very nice all round ride when you get one sorted.

Hi, I'll play along...good idea, I have been a member for a while, but went off "net" for a while after a bad experience with a X-type 2009 a few years ago.
owned it for 3 months, a diesel turbo, only had it on road for 2 weeks the rest of the time it was in for repairs, $8,000 later I traded it in for a new commodore SV6 in Beter Brock blue as I couldnt rely on it not breaking down, a week after trade in it failed again..Phew!
I bought a corvette stingray and had fun for next 3 years, but then I saw the XK8 for sale and got the Jag bug again, so I bit the bullet a bought a 2002 XK8 in british racing green, 4.0 ltr V8 petrol, never buy a diesel again.
I ended up with 3 cars and a motorbike.
My daughter got into financial probs so one had to go, the Corvette went as my partner hated being a passenger in LHD.
So sadly Im left with the "door" and the XK8, very happy so far, enjoying fixing up little problems and a few mods.
Doesnt turn as many heads as the Vette as its very quiet compared to the very lumpy corvette.
I live in williamstown north of Adelaide.
I think theres a red convertible around here too.

Hello. Brand new to the site and finding it very helpful.

I am a relocated Adelaide gal, currently living in NZ. Was given an S-Type Jag for Christmas and now here I am, locating repairs and parts.

Welcome Gillian.

GIVEN an S Type???, oh my, lucky girl you are.

Lots of info in the S Type section, and I will see you there.

When you get time add the Jag specs to your signature, as people will always ask "what ya got", so they can answer correctly.

Only 1 Jag, thats ok, so did I, then the count got to 11, no idea what happened there, now down to 2.

Must admit my wife got an XJ12 S2 for no particular reason a very long time ago.

Then an XJ-S for reasons I forget.

Now the S Type, and she is again looking at an XJ-S, but the upkeep for me now is prohibitive, so the S Type stays the flavour.
