Default Jaguars at self serve wreckers

In case anyone is interested there are a number of Jaguars at self serve wrecks around Melbourne.

Imlachs in Centre Rd Clayton have a series 2 XJ6

Jollys in Dandenong have a series 3 XJ6
Wrecking Jaguar XJ6

Pick-a-part in Kilsyth has 2 series 2 XJ6's and a 1992 Sovereign

If I get a chance i'll get some photo's.

I went down to Pick-a-Part in Kilsyth today, the 3 Jags down there are in a pretty sad state. still, there might be something of value to someone.

Bit of an eye opener , in regard to how many are going to the graveyard.

Somehow I missed this thread from the start. Useful to know as I'd never have bothered looking for Jag parts at general wreckers, assuming none would be around. Sad and encouraging at the same time! (that S3 doesn't look half bad...)

Another X-type this time at pick-a-part in Campbellfield!

Scrounging on the ground I picked up 5 genuine wheel nuts for the princely sum of $1 each! The grille was cracked so I grabbed the badge as well for $3!

Another expedition to Imlachs in Clayton. Had some time spare so I went Jaguar hunting. A few familiar faces and a few new ones.

Anyone need V12 parts? XJ 5.3 at pick-a-part in Kilsyth. I've only ever seen 1 other V12 at a self serve wrecker, they are very hard to find!

That brown XJ with no bonnet and the shotguned windscreen is showing slight signs of the classic XJ windscreen rust problem :-)

hey all, was down at Imlachs in Clayton today and couldn't believe what I found down the back of the yard. It's not a Jag, but is very British!

It is very addictive! another side effect is a garage full of parts that you may never need!

pick-a-part campbellfield has another X-Type that I forgot to get a picture of.

This is one I've been keeping secret, its a 2000 S-Type at Imlachs Clayton. Apparently only has 120,000 KMs on it. I grabbed the auto trans off it for dad's car as it is slow to engage reverse. Believe it or not it cost $76.80 for the transmission! The torque convertor was $28.80 extra. Also grabbed the sunroof and a swag of other parts "just in case!" lol

Have to wonder why this died so soon. Looks pretty well undamaged (unless LH side is gone??), low mileage etc.

It had some minor front end damage - the drivers headlight is broken along with the front bumper. doesn't take much to write these cars off as parts are hard to get and very expensive!
