Service and repair shops you can recommend
The purpose of this thread is for people to share experiences of good service. We are looking for places that you would easily recommend to your mates based on your personal experience.
Here are a couple to kick of:
Carby Shop, Sherwood Court, Wantirna.
Carby and FI service, dyno available
Nigel the owner is a very knowledgeable guy and easy to work with.
Wholesale Automatics, Melrich Road, Bayswater.
Super competent with any serviceable trans you run. They also do a lot of specialised work for racing and off road. Can receive, overhaul and ship back if you want to do your own remove and replace work.
Seems unlikely but if anyone is considering LPG, a good shop is AG Autogas in Cave Road, Lilydale. Quality work and great ongoing support.
Hope you can add some more from around VIC/TAS

Hey c'mon fellas ... dig deep ... this is a great initiative,
I can't believe it takes someone from north of the border (but formerly Sunraysia) to remind you that every second Jag owner in Australia knows of, and swears by, the outstanding service offered for decades now by JagDaim of Moorabbin.
No, I don't have any special relationship with them (I can wish) but none of our restorations, our V12 Daimler VDP, nor the wicked S1 E-Type ever fazed them. Great service; fair prices; and a great rep from WA to QLD and all points in between.
The old and perhaps unfair adage was "Brysons may have imported them; but JagDaim kept them running". Interesting that the former has gone from both Melbourne and Sydney, but JagDaim is still alive and well.
Best wishes,
Ken

Had a good encounter with a wheel and tyre shop in Brisbane. Looking to replace a metric spare with something to match some 17x8 after market wheels on another car. Local places were dis-interested and had nothing to offer due to old school dimensions.
Saw some interesting stuff on an ebay shop and contacted Purnell Tyres in Queensland. Really switched on, interested in solving problems, went through some options that wouldnt work and then offered to make the wheel to suit (they arrange final drill/machine of imported blanks). 10 days later , new wheel arrives at door, fits perfectly.
Great guys if you have anything outside the norm, shame they arent local. Hopefully there is something like them down her and I just failed to find them.

Hey Steve; this is a great initiative ... and after my earlier reference of JagDaim and now yours of the Brisbane wheel shop ... I'm going to pay you the ultimate compliment of copying with a similar thread in NSW&ACT. Clarke may wish to do the same in QLD. Grant has a very good handle on services and suppliers in SA&NT.
I tried to get a similar initiative underway here many months ago, and we are long overdue to push again. Provided each State gets such a thread underway, and everyone posts across to wherever the business is located, we could soon build a database that all members could use with ease ... no matter where they live.
Keep at it Steve ... this is good value for all of us.
Best wishes mate,
Ken

Nice compilation of info Steve.
I've been picking up a few bits and pieces for the Mk2 from a USA site recently as they have everything I want and it's easy to find, but have been a bit disappointed. (I've spent hours adjusting parts to make them fit.)
Next time I'll try Jagdaim. Their site isn't as easy to use as some but bugger it, I'll go old school and give them a ring.

I have recently had the roof lining repaired and general upholstery tidy ups done by Tim at Sew Fine Auto Interiors in Cranbourne. The roof lining shell on my XJS had been damaged by a previous owners attempts at repair. Tim was able to repair the shell and recover plus the side battens etc.
The roof now looks right it has the correct shape and contours. He was also able to dye the centre console that was looking scruffy.
A skilled tradesman who charges a very fair price. Have a look at his facebook page.

Upholstery
Just adding some info for Oz Trim in Ringwood (Alan). He did a nice job on my XJ6 seats.

Dropped in to Corso Bodyworks in Southbank, on the recommendation of Brighton Jaguar. They had the chrome fixed in a jiffy, as well as a couple if tiny stone chip touch ups on the paint. Great service!

This recommendation thread has been opened for 10 months and they havent been mentioned. Doesnt really say much as its a small geographically spread sample, we are just trying to capture real world experiences and so far nobody has used them. They have been there a long time so they clearly have a loyal following.
