Default What model OBD scanner to buy

Hi everyone,I have been doing some searching for a scanner and have notice some are only for use on vehicles in USA. Can any Ozzies recommend a reliable brand for use in Australia. I am getting some weird faults which aren't battery related and would like to diagnose before I call my service tech. Thanks in advance. Regards Harry

Mate,

As a simple system I use Proscan 5.9 on a win 7 laptop and a generic ELM327. It works fine for the basic codes and MIL clearance. Cost is about the same as a handheld unit but you get the added bonus of real time mapping and logging.

Cheers,
