good place for detailing in Toronto?

There is a place in Leaside on Laird drive just south of Eglinton.
The place used to be the site of Ian Johnsons "Just Jag's" repair shop.
My experience with detailers is that they do not go deep enough into my car for my liking. When I detail my own car I take two or three days and I take out the interior and keep going till I get everything. I promise you that a 99 dollar detail special will not come close. However if you want to just get a surface buff up this would be one reasonably good place.
Honestly, I recomend doing it yourself there is no better way to acquaint yourself with your car and its quirks and perhaps find some potential troubles before they come.
Cheers, and GET OUT TO WOODBRIDGE!!! I won't be there this Thursday but Spitfire might be in his NICE S Type.

I hear you, it was the $99 special that I was looking to avoid.
When it comes to exterior paint work, it really is an art form and I would be hard pressed to match some of the work I have see from true professionals not these run of the mill detail shops. I have a great contact back where I use to live but since moving back to Toronto I just don't know anyone who fits that bill.
I intend to handle the interior and other areas of the detail, but I still prefer a pro to do the exterior paint.
Thanks for the input, I am taking holidays starting wed for the long weekend up at my cottage, but I'll will be back in town next Thursday for the meet...sans XJ-S as it in having some issues sorted.

i can't guarantee they are still under same management.. but when i lived in toronto i went to a car wash beside pusateris on avenue rd at lawrence, it is one of those hop out and watch your car go thru car wash's for 30 bucks where they do the inside and out.. they had a detailing guy with a bay opff the side.. he was hard to book and worked on high end cars (obviously with the neighborhood) Treated my F250 harley davidson truckl like it was his own and it always came out looking like it was off the showroom floor... it usually cost me around 150 bucks for an exterior detail plus a tip (I usually gave the guy 20 extra) if he is still there.. it was a younger guy maybe around my age 30-35 Really loved his job and appreciated good cars

car detailing
There is a place called splash works just north of Steeles by pine valley.
The owner does most of the work himself.
His name is Vito. He has done all of my vehicles and he specializes in high-end cars.
Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Maserati, etc.
He also has the best prices and does the best work in the G.T.A.

I am totally with you on that. Cannot even imagine how some of you can claim to have a car fully detailed in a day let along two to three hours.
When I was showing my Series III V-12's Jaguars in Concours events, I would spend at a minimum, a month just doing the engine bay. You could have eaten your dinner off it when it was finished. The outside would take another week and I still had the inside the cabin to finish after that.
I also could not help but notice that all the cars being show here are newish cars with immaculate paint to start with. Try showing a twenty year old car with well worn paint that you have transformed, then I will be impressed.
Part of the fascination of owning an older Jaguar was to take one that needed work and without spending a lot of money making it look like it just came off the production line. Tons of self satisfaction came along with doing just that.
