Default F-type R detailed (GTechniq ++)

The car was one years old when I bought it second hand. It had been taken good care of, but I wanted some extra protection and get rid of too much wash swirls -as can be seen here.

After

Before and after

Paint thickness measurements

Before

After

Polishing equipment

Preparation

GTechniq Crystal Serum for Paint protection. Topped off with two layers of EXOv2

Brakes and hubs got treated as well

Nice result

Easy to clean (brake dust is no problem)

The inside got some leather care

Very nice work! Are you a professional detailer? How many hours did you spend on this job?

Thanks XJL, but I can not take credit for this job. It was done by a professional detailer that I have used on some previous cars, and I have always been very satiesfied with the result. One reason is that the treatment last for a long time (years) as long as I treat the car correct when I wash it.

He loves his work and was very happy that he was given the opertunity to work on an F-type, as there are not many of them in Norway (I think there are only 3 or 4 F-type R in totall so far). He also has a great interest in British cars, so he did spend more hours on the car than what was really neccessary. He asked if he could have the car for a week, and I got a (very nice) fixed price, so I told him that was absolutely fine by me (and no - he did not spend some of that time driving it It was not outside his garage untill I picked it up).

Totall time used was 45 hours, and you can see a few more pics a bit down on his Facebook site here:

As you can see I also allowed him to use a photo of my car on his front page.

And here you can see a full set of photos with more details of the total job that he did:

In 2 or 3 years time, I am shure I will visit him again for some "refreshing", and I also buy the products I need for normal "wash and care" from him - including a very handy "quick detailer" from GTechniq. Spray on the car when it is wet after a wash, and wipe/dry off with a micro cloth. It's quick and easy and it makes the current treatment (coating) last a lot longer (and it also removes what is left of bugs and insects in the front of the car, as they don't get stuck so hard on the exsisting coating).
