Factory Undercoating for Concourse Restoration

Factory Undercoating for Concourse Restoration
My 66, which I've owned for 30 years, has original floors with no rust. The rockers have a small amount and are being replaced. The underside seems to have original undercoating which I scraped some off to determine what the original prep was. The car is White but the bottom appears to be painted black and then undercoated with black undercoating. There is no sign of white.
From my research, there seems to be a lot of confusion about what the factory did from one car to the next.
The question is, what is the most appropriate undercarriage treatment for a concourse restoration?

I believe it is the JCNA that has the concours evaluation guides.
From other threads I believe you'll find the judges are not allowed to look under the car. I remember thinking that was interesting given how much attention to the underside is given to custom cars where they put the mirrors underneath so you can admire their work.
I remember seeing other threads where the factory treatment of the underside is something of a mystery and may have changed over time. IIRC, the consensus seems to be that the tar-like undercoating was applied by dealers. If you look inside your sills you'll see Jaguar didnt care about rust prevention. At all. Not even a tiny bit!
But I would check with the judging guides. Lots of details there.

Here's a copy of the JCNA judging guide for your 1966:
http://jcna.com/library/tech/e-type1.pdf
A JCNA judge is not allowed to drop to his/her knees to peer underneath. So your undercarriage will not be seen. It's the visible wheel wells that will matter, and maybe a smidgen of the nether posterior. The best strategy is not to do anything that will catch the eye of a slightly bent-over judge.
