Default Jaguar E type bonnet

First post! In the midst of a very long restoration on a Series 1 OTS. Had an etype many years ago, have been playing with other vehicles since and got 'the itch' again.

We ended up getting a new bonnet for the car due to the level of restoration, but a talented person could certainly work my original one back to life.

Just curious on what I should ask for it?

Comes with center section
Left and Right wing
Lower valance
Headlight sugar scoops
Headlight chrome

The lower valance is crunchy, but serviceable. The other parts are dinged, previously repaired, but very solid.

I currently have it listed on e bay, with many photos there.

Anyway, was curious if this price is in line.

Thanks for any input.

Your posted bonnet needs a lot of work, and will have plenty of filler when finished. But, could be in line for the right buyer. I would let the 6 day auction run it's course. If it's too expensive the bids will tell.

You could give monocoque metalworks a phone call and see what they say.

Ha! That's who I got my replacement from. He thought the pricing was good enough, especially for a retail buyer.

I may mark it to 2500 just to get it out of the restoration shops way. Or if anyone on here wants one, just make an offer.

Thanks folks!

I think it is to much. Its old and needs a LOT ow bondo. But what has said before i would be happy with any $$ you can get for it. You should have traded your old one in for your new one with Chuck.

I actually feel the same way, but one born every day. That's why I said let the auction run it's course.

Thanks for the input guys. The shipping each way for a trade would've wiped out any trade value.

We'll see how it goes. For too little money, it'd look better on my garage wall than giving it away.

Ebay got the ball rolling on the sale, purchaser was referred by somebody who knew somebody, et cetera. Bonnet gone, sold, outa here.

That windfall now pays for like 30 minutes of high quality shop labor on this unending restoration!

Chuck is a good guy. Very informative and supportive. If you need any of the little panels and such he is the guy and he enjoys what he does. Cheers Chuck
