Disconnect battery
Hi everyone, (Geoffrey Terry, (Lazinov) Czech Republic).
2012 XF 2.2 SE 190, now with a Czech number plate.
Here's the problem.
Well there are many computer originated difficulties, lights, wipers, stop start, etc. Consumption readout, fixed on 6.9 ltrs./100km.
My feeling is that disconnecting the battery for a brief period would reset the system and, maybe, eradicate all the irritations.
However, firstly it was suggested that disconnecting the battery can cause more problems than it is likely to correct. Radio code etc, well now I know that there is no radio code, that the radio is tailored to each specific vehicle, such that it is useless to any thief, not much help once it has gone.
Would some brilliant technician, expert on XF My2012, confirm whether or not I might disconnect the battery, using the wheel restraint as the earthing point, and then return to status quo.
Thanks
Geoffrey
