Good morning everybody!

As promised, I checked with some hotels there and I'm currently waiting on their reply / offers.
To keep it simple (adding one more night for one or two rooms later on will be easy), I asked for 5 single- and 5 double-rooms from the 6th to the 7th.

I did some research and these seemed to be good choices:
Hotel am Tiergarten
(the hotel of Sabine Schmitz parents)

Hotel zur Burg

Lindner Hotels & Resorts - ÜBERSICHT

Lindner Hotels & Resorts - ÜBERSICHT

I'll post their offers, as soon as I receive them, for further discussion.

Edit:
I choose these hotels, due to their proximity to the ring and also because they seem to have a good bar!!! :-)

As an afterthought:

I'm also on Xing, which has a Jaguar Drivers Section (which is pretty dormant).

If there are no objections against it, I could post a link there to this thread.
As I see it, there could be two benefits:
a) the number of participants could increase, and

b) to maybe get some new (European) members to the forum.

No problem from my side Percy. There are people from the UK forum coming as well as a couple who are not on either forum.

It's good advertising, and we are all Jag drivers in the end.

Looking forward to the hotel info's, would be good to get the rooms booked early so we don't have to worry about it later.

I received the first answers on my requests from the hotels.
"Hotel zur Burg" still hasn't answered, but I wanted to give everybody a heads-up and a possibility to start the evaluation.

Just need to check out the bar facilities

You're welcome.

I was actually hoping, that more participants would comment on the hotels.
Personally I prefer the "Hotel am Tiergarten" as well, but other might think different.
But if it is up to us two, I guess it will be that hotel.

You're much closer to the 'Ring than the rest of us, it's up to you Andre.

Everyone is responsible for thier own accommodation, if you don't book it yourself, you don't have a bed

ATTENTION: I've updated the itinerary/info post HERE

Time to start booking your rooms and tickets!

Thumbs up Ready to go! :-)

I just ordered my tickets. Can't wait to meet you guys to spend an exciting weekend with you!

BTW: Richard Thomas disappeared from the list. Just a lapse or did he back out?

Two more things that came to me when reading the terms and conditions:

  1. For those who come from outside of Germany: please don't forget to take a proof of your car insurance with you. You'll need it for driving in the Green Hell.
  2. I think it's a good idea to store the phone number of the Nürburgring track management in your mobiles. It's

    (+49)800 0302112

For in case of a breakdown that's the number to dial in order to report the problem and to get help and advice.

Nice video Davey! I assure you I won't be going that fast...

Not sure about Richard Thomas, haven't heard from him in a while & no reply to my PM so who knows?

I'll send out another reminder to everyone.

Also, Percy might not make it due to work commitments...

Hi everybody.

I had some weeks, which bordered on the insane, therefore it took me some days.

For those of you, who want to book the rooms at the "Hotel Am Tiergarten", here is the number of their offer: 2013020071
Please refer to that for your reservation.

It seems that it will be hard for me to attend. An internal qualification that I have to attend to came up - and guess on which weekend...

Right now, I'm trying to arrive late on the Saturday, to meet you guys in the hotel (bar) and then do my laps on the Sunday, before heading home. Wish me luck, that at least this works out.

I hope everyone has already booked thier room at the Tiergarten, I just got the last two online for me & Davey, you can't book online anymore so you have to write to the hotel directly info@am-tiergarten.de or give them a call +49 2691 92200 (they speak English) I rang earlier and they actually have 6x twin rooms left, so i've asked that they hold them for the next couple of days but you'd better be quick, say you have spoken with Mr Knight about the booking.

All booked and ready here. Now I just have to find out about car rentals. I don't think I want to drive the Jag around the ring, considering insurance, tire and brake costs. There are pretty nice rental race-ready cars to rent for a few hundred euro's.

I also think 400hp is too much for me, first time around the ring. Knowing my right foot, I'd risk making my wife a widow.

Until today, I really, really was hoping, that I can still go with my backup plan...

But...today my worst fears had been confirmed: the training course will take till late Saturday evening, with a godd.... review on Sunday morning!
I was so much hoping for the event, so it kinda feels empty, to know, you guys can enjoy it, while I have to endure the lectures

I can only emphasize how much I envy you. Take some corners for me.
I keep my fingers crossed, that, if luck permits, we are able to repeat this at the end of summer!

I'm looking at renting a car from here:
Rent a Race Car 4 the Nurburgring Nordschleife from us, we offer track cars 4 both tourist Ring driving and trackdays on the North Loop. Special pricing for the evening offers during the week. Race car rental and more!

They allow a second driver, so if anyone is up for it, we could share a full-day in a Scirocco.

I'm currently learning the track with
. Damn fun!

Exclamation The plan

So the Green Hell weekend is coming closer and closer (my sympathy is with you, Percy). So I'd like to discuss the plan for the weekend.

Basically I'm in agreement with Cambo's tentative itinerary. That is to meet Friday afternoon, to go for one of the proposed events and to have a nice evening in a restaurant/bar.

Questions are:

- when and where exactly should we meet?

As I can't predict when you people who have to take longer journeys will arrive I hardly can propose a time. So it's up to you. However I suggest to choose the Hotel am Tiergarten as our meeting place.

- which event should we go for?

My vote goes to a visit to the ring°werk museum. For I can't see much attraction in cart driving when I'm about to drive the 80 km through the Green Hell in my cat the next day

What do you think?
