I definitely would not recommend the tow hook style, as off centered, it becomes more of a focal point and sticks out a lot more. Which you want to avoid.

Why is sticking out bad? My F-type doesn't have front parking sensors and in NYC, often valets park the car which means it is sort of a bumper guard.

Amazon also has them, issue is that it covers one of the front parking sensors which then needs to be disabled.

Thanks for posting. Is it easily removed?
I plan to get this for, um, temporary compliance reasons here in california :-)

Seeing that New Jersey plate on the front makes me glad (at least for one reason) to live across the Delaware River. Front plate just doesn't sit well with the car in almost any configuration. I feel for you guys.

I think it will require 10-15 mins of work to remove it.

I got pulled over the other day but was just given a warning. Also, I visit NYC quite a bit and I often park on street. I am paranoid of getting a ticket via meter maid.

I had almost forgotten that I never installed the front plate. I was surprised that the dealer hadn't - they said they usually don't and that the police don't seem to care. And if they did, to tell them I was waiting for the right bracket.

Still OK after a year.

Has anyone found a good place to mount the plate?
I usually just pay the fines but they're clamping down really hard out here so I'm not sure money will solve this problem in the future

A friend of mine has one of these on his 3 series BMW and it works great.
Same as the link but manual version.

License Plate Bracket Front: New No Drill Options 2013

Interesting list of No-Drill front plate holder options. (some are just inconspicuous drill). The Skene Designs option actually lists the F-type as compatible on their website. I like the design of the Godspeed one of all the tow-hook mounts I see in the list, but I'd rather have something center-mounted. I'm kinda glitchy about asymmetry

I'm new to the forum, I posted info on the new members site.. anyway, I had an xkr and used the 'Altec retractable license plate' and it worked well. However, it will not work or attach properly to the F type R that I have ordered in February.
I'm planning to try and work with some rare earth magnets to configure a way to mount the plate and I know a Jaguar mechanic that says he thinks he can do it.
I live in Ontario, Canada and the police are fanatics on speed (bad news couple with really low speed limits) and they will for sure nail you without a front plate. I was stopped twice in two months by the provincial policy with the xkr and thats when I installed the Altec.
I will let you know how the magnet works out, however the new car will likely not be here much before mid-June.

Default Tow Hook License Plate Bracket

I purchased one from ExtremeOnLineStore through wsa-auto on eBay. It seems to be well constructed. I have not installed it yet as I am waiting for the title and then will have to register it. I can see that it will probably block one of the front parking sensors. Does anyone know how/if it can be deactivated? Fallback plan is bolting it through the grille, which will be difficult, I imagine.

Do the Sto N Sho bracket. It's a far more elegant solution: STO N SHO 2013-2017 Jaguar F-Type
