Default Audio comparison; F Type and XE sedan

Hi guys, I had a XE sedan today, as a loaner since my car was at the service dept.
My car is a 2017 MY and the loaner was a 2017 MY car. When I played with the car audio system I noticed the audio has three separate setting for audio tone, highs, mid range and bass. I set it to my liking and the Meridian speakers sounded excellent. My car only has two audio tone settings, treble and bass. No midrange setting. The XE sedan is less expensive and yet it has a superior sounding audio system. Again, both cars are 2017 MY, so why didn't Jaguar add the midrange setting to the 2017 MY F Type.
Does anyone have a midrange setting for the audio system. Your thoughts please.
Thank you.

The audio systems in the F-Type and XE are very different...

The F-Type is still using the MOST fiber optic based Bosch IAM2.1 system.

The XE is using the newer ethernet based NGI "Next Generation Infotainment"

While the speakers are the same, everything else is different.

The F-Type will eventually be updated to NGI, I guess 2018MY?

New models get new tech, existing models continue with existing tech, it's happened before many times with JLR vehicles. Typically the smaller-volume models hold onto the older tech for longer.

Default That stinks !

Thank you for your reply.
So, the fact that I have a 2017 F Type, I still get the older version audio system. That's not good at all. I am however happy that I don't have the audio issues/problems that many F Type members are experiencing.
The XE Sedan audio system sounds much cleaner than my cars audio.

Yep, one example is the gearbox in the XFR. When JLR updated from the 6 speed to the 8 speed ZF box in 2012 every model except the XFR got it, and the XFR had to wait another year for the 8 speed. Same with "stop/start" I think, but who would ever want stop/start on an XFR?

I've been in 3 different XE loaners so far and all three rattled like a tackle box.

I had an xe as a loaner and it was fully loaded with the upgraded sound system and it blew the doors off my f type but this prior to the audio uograde my dealership did to fix the system. After the fix the xe sounds better but not by much.

Default Midrange sound adjustment ....

The midrange adjustment level does make a big difference in the overall audio speaker sound. Too bad those without this particular setting can't add it to our system with some type of Jaguar software upgrade or patch.

We have an XE with the premium sound and it is the best I've heard in a Jag by far for the kind of music I listen to - better than the decent volvo systems and they are usually very good.

The XE system is better than the f type 16.5 but then the f type is far better than the B & W system that I had in the XKR (awful) or the XF (marginally better) though they were good for acoustic guitar.

So does the F-Pace have the same setup as the XE?

I have 17 speakers in my XE and it does sound killer but for satellite and FM radio it sounds weak. Sounds best with BT or IPod and really comes alive. I also like how you can toggle from meridian to Dolby, etc on the fly.

I had a loaner XE a few weeks ago when mine was in for 1yr service. I immediately noticed the external audio system was extremely inferior, as was the accelerator.

honestly I have a base f-type with the 770w system and I'm not complaining that it has that much power standard but I will say my bmw 335 with the harman kardon sound system sounds wayyyyyy better
