So painful..... I'm livid. Attachment 136447
The first scratch is always the toughest. The beauty of someone else putting the scratch there is that you can direct your anger and angst towards the other guy.
If you put the scratch there yourself, well.......
Cheers

My fear, but luckily not the reality. Promised to make it right. Still going to be a pain in my ***...respray will mean waiting weeks for the paint to cure before getting it re-coated. That will put me into winter weather without paint protection...which was the whole reason I paid for it in the first place.

I've repaired similar scratches myself on other cars using a combination of touch-up paint and the Quixx repair kit, see here https://www.amazon.com/Quixx-00070-U.../dp/B000UVUAFO
Just Quixx by itself has worked for me on very fine scratches, but that scratch looks a bit too deep so you will need some paint as well.

Did you have any Opti-Coat or cQuartz on the car? If so, the scratch might not be through to the paint (only to the clear coat).

Tip - NEVER, ever, ever, ever accept any of the dealer add-ons. They are all a waste of money. Once a car salesman attempts to convince you that something is in your best interest, you immediately know that it's really in THEIR best interest.

You paid the dealership extra for 'paint protection?' My friend . . . you were scammed. It comes so equipped from the factory (as to all cars) so you paid for something you already had.

Aftermarked coatings are amazing. I had Opticoat on a BMW and that car looked brand new everytime it rained! Modesta BC-04 on a Cayenne which saved that car from needing a massive respray on the entire side of the car...I'm probably going to have the F-Type done in the next couple weeks...
