Certainly room for growth, but well ahead of Jaguar's historic reputation...

Just keep in mind that every manufacturer experiences a drop in the ratings for the 3 year period in which new models are introduced because this covers the time during which "bugs" are worked out. In the past few years Jaguar has introduced the XE, the F-type, the F-pace, heavily revised the XF, revised the electronics in all models....thus the drop in ratings because even very minor issues, when reported, affect the ratings. An example of this: some owners of the F-Type reported buzzing noises from the radio speakers at high volumes. It took a while for Jaguar to sort this out; the solution was an electronic reflashing of the audio system. Problem solved. Was this a major quality issue ? Clearly not. Did Jaguar fix it under warranty? Yes.
Oh...and Porsche: when you use the same designer for 40 years and don't change your models in any major way, well, you should darn well be at the top (winking emoticon).

Except among people who own them. The modern Jaguars I have owned in the last 10 years include: 2004 XJ8, 2002 X-Type 2.5 manual (two of them), 2005 X-Type 3 litre Estate, 2007 XK (what a car!).
Every single one of them has been 100% reliable, meaning no defects or failures of any kind....wait, not quite true: one of the 2002 x-Types had to have an oxygen sensor replaced - the only repair it has had in 12 years of daily service.
Jaguars of the 70's and 80's had spotty reliability, it is true, and this is the reputation that has lingered but modern Jags equal or better any marque in reliability, assuming proper care and maintenance.
