Default LSD option on 2016 Base Coupe ?

I skipped the depreciation cliff and bought my 2016MY Base after the previous owner and the Monroney sticker disappeared en route and cannot be reprinted according to JLR USA.

I ran my VIN# through Topix and came up with these options on the build sheet:

LSD WITH TVBB
AMBIENT LIGHTING-CONFIGURABLE
SEATBELT - PIMENTO RED
BRAKE CALIPERS-RED

So I clearly don't have red seatbelts or red calipers and there is no setting I can find for the ambient lighting (although some say some CCF tweaking makes it available to all cars).

So was it ever an option to order a 2016 base coupe with the LSD ? Is there any way to tell by looking at it ?

I guess maybe someone ticking the boxes in Topix was having a bad day...but curious nonetheless....

PM me your last 6 six of the VIN. I can get you a solid answer. But no, it was never an option. TOPIx might not correct. I'm puzzled by the TVBB as thats a feature that will come standard on all F-TYPEs for 2018MY.

I have a base coupe and it says:

"OPEN STYLE REAR AXLE-STD DIFF"

Topix info is known to have typo's in it from time to time.

Base V6 does not have an LSD, and it could not have been fitted "by mistake" either as the ratio's are different between V6 and V6S.

I'm thinking I may have to look into retrofitting red seat belts (or pimento as Topix poetically describes them ) ;-)

Any truth to the suspicion that all models had configurable ambient lighting but the switch is hidden for those that didn't pay for it ?

As far as I know, the lighting components are all in place, it's just a matter of enabling them in the CCF...

I did look into this, and could not see any separate listings in the parts catalogue for with or without ambient lighting...

Nope. There's two different part numbers. One is a single color LED for the non configurable cars and the other is a two color LED for configurable cars.

Yeah? Which lights? I looked at the one in the grab handle of the center console, there was only one part number...

I'll have to look again...

EDIT

Ah yeah, the lights in the door casing are either single or dual colour.

But I suppose it's just a matter of swapping those over, can't imagine that there would be any wiring differences.

EDIT AGAIN

Those dual-LED lamps are fairly cheap, like $25 each, so would be worth a go.

OK, confession time - driver error. ONE character different from my actual VIN still got me a car with the same specs (mostly) and the right colour but it wasn't mine....Topix appears to have got it right, although I can see the original owner swapped out the 20" Black Cyclones for the 20" Gyrodynes sometime/somehow. Which is nice.

As you were folks. Nothing to see here, move along.

LOL

I was thinking "maybe he put in the wrong vin" but then I thought there if so there is no way the rest of the car could be identical to his... how about that eh?

They might have those in the paint shop, but the assembly line is a complete mish mash of body type, model and colour.

And forklift trucks. Lots of forklift trucks.
