Default NorCal F-Type meet up and canyon drive

Inspired by the awesome drive that LynxFX organised last weekend I wanted to see what folks thought about a similar excursion for our Northern Californian F-Type owners. There's nothing quite like canyon carving with a bunch of Fs in the rear view mirror.

I thought I'd put some date feelers out there and take it from there before suggesting a route/meetup location. I am based in San Francisco but would suggest meeting up at a location closer to some twisties.

Please use the poll to indicate a date preference.

Too bad there isn't a multiple-choice option, as that may be more beneficial, as I suspect we will have some people with date exclusions and others who are open on any weekend day.

I put my first choice down. In general, Sundays are best for me, but I can also do Saturdays if it is an early event on the peninsula side so I can time my travel to have me back by noon to 1pm or so. The 5th is an exception since its labor day weekend and I can be free all day on Saturday or Sunday.

I'm up for a drive. Our last one was back in June, so some time in September would be good. I'm out September 12th week in Vegas. September 19th might be a good date...there is a "all british meet" in blackhawk museum...can do a drive then go there, or go there then do a drive....

Poll is at the top of the page, right above the first post.

I think September 19th is looking likely for a more organised drive because this weekend being Labour Day is going to make it a zoo out there, plus the BART is not running between SF and Oakland that is going to make the Bay Bridge a parking lot. However I do plan on attending Cars and Coffee on the 5th and would love to see some more F-Types in attendance.

For the 19th if we are to go to the British car meet in Danville then my suggestions would be to meet up early in the South Bay, say in San Jose early and do the CA-130 and Mines Road route to get to the museum. We'd have to leave around 7.30/8am to get there at a reasonable time assuming we're not entering our F-Types in the awards We could do the reverse if folks wanted to get there early.

I'll probably see you at the C&C this Saturday. Treasure Island is about a 5 minute drive for me so I have no excuse not to go. Look for the orange accented coupe :-)

As for drive on the 19th, I think that route is a no go for me...that's way too much driving to head down to San Jose from SF then route all the way back to Danville. If there are some closer driving roads near Danville I can do that, but I don't really know that area....

Here's another idea...Saturday the 26th...a drive from SF to Canepa in Santa Cruz. They are having an open house that entire week for Rennsport Reunion (huge Porsche event at Laguna Seca). https://www.facebook.com/events/759242490888298/
The place is very cool if you haven't been. Can meet at Alice's, drive down via Skyline/Highway 9....

Works for me, I'll be at Canepa's on the 12th for the C&C event, bringing the Jag this time because the Model A roadster's been there like 3 times in a row.

I could possibly do that. Or at the least I could meet up with folks at Alice's since I need to be back in Pacifica by noon-1pm or so on Saturday.
