Default Poll: Name your three favorite current cars other than F-Type in terms of design

Being fellow F-Type owners, we all probably have a great inherent aesthetic taste as it relates to car design...

Curious to see if we share any similarity in terms of other car designs currently available outside of the F-Type.

Lets keep the cars at sub $1/4m so we don't get overly exotic. Simply cars that just move us in the soul.

Here are my three:

Ferrari 488 GTB
Astin Martin Vanquish
BMW i8

When I see any of these three cars in person, I get misty eyed.

Not many, if any, other current cars are of much interest to me. Maybe that's why I hadn't bought a car in the 13 or 14 years before getting the F-Type.

I pulled up to an i8 at a stop the other day. From down low and up close the styling looks a bit gimmicky. And absolutely no soul. It pulled away from the stop light, absolutely no Sturm und Drang. Just birds chirping in the background until the ECO function breathed life into the kitty.

If we are talking about sportscars, I don't really have any favorites other than the F-type.

If the F-type did not exist, I would probabely look a bit closer at the R8.

And don't get me wrong. There are a lot of nice sportscars out there, but not many that ticks all the boxes that makes it a great sportscar for me

Without picking actual models, I would want:

A German, Italian and American to go with the Brit. Likely a Porsche, Ferrari, and Vette. Although a Bentley convertible would be nice, (possibly considered German).

Hmm,

Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe looks interesting but maybe too many curves $72k with every option available....
My Porsche 928 S4 had a sticker price of $97k in 1987 and I really loved it and I still do.
No wonder I like MB AMG GTS from $130k - $165k

Call me old fashioned...

My tastes are simple and somewhat condensed. In addition to my F-TYPE I would enjoy an Aston Martin Vanquish, DB11 when it comes out and a Vantage in that order. Guess I exceeded the $200k limit on the Vanquish.

Your first two not under $200k, even a new Vantage V12S is over $200k.

Mine would be AMG GTS, Audi R8 and maybe Maserati GT.

LOL

Your first choice is $250k. Your second is $290k.

Since rules are out the window I'll take the F12. Park it out front and just leave the key in the cup holder for me.

Wait...does the F12 have a cup holder?

Darn...guess I'll have to go the CPO route to keep them under the threshold.

Herein lies the real problem. There are some interesting sports cars out there but they are rediculously priced well over $200k. Even the ones that start under 200 go over that quickly with even basic options. It just shows the great niche the Ftype fits in for those that aren't sitting on huge piles of cash but still able and willing to spend for performance and quality.

Since the cap is off: other than my beloved F type Vert and I still want the coupe as well.....

1. Aston Martin Vanguish
2. Ferrari California
3. Konigseggggggggggggggg 1 to 1

F-type aside, it is very hard to get a good looking 'current' car.

My all-type favorite looks are Mercedes 300SL, E24 BMW M6 (classic 6 series), and Shelby Cobra.

2012 Aston Martin V12 Vantage in baby blue.
1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe
BMW 1M (probably just me on this one)

Money not a factor:

I grew up in whats called the Playstation generation but for some reason the Japanese still get it right. Racecar performance with Honda Accord reliability. Not to mention...the value on these cars have climbed steadily over the years.

-Honda s2000
-Honda/Acura NSX
-Toyota Supra Twin Turbo
-Nissan R34 Skyline (Any flavor)
-Honda/Acura Integra Type R

Under 0.25 mil:
1. McLaren 570S - will pull the trigger on this one next year. Lease is around $2500 a month.
2. Huracan
3. Acura NSX

Un-restricted:
1. Ferrari F12
2. Ferrari Lusso - Ferrari has the best interiors for a sports / exotic car.
2. AM Vanquish

Sorry, couldnt resist thinking about what my garage would look like with current gen cars. There are really appealing designs in other categories as well:
Ford - 2015 Fusion, Edge, Mustang GT 350
Chevy - Malibu, Bolt, Next gen Camaro ZL1, Corvette Z06
Hyundai - Santa Fe sport
Chrysler - 200
Buick - Encore
Jeep - Renegade
Dodge - Charger SRT
Fiat - 500 Abarth, 124
Smart - new gen ForTwo
Subaru - BRZ
Toyota - CHR (upcoming)
Honda - Accord Coupe
Nissan - Murano
Infiniti - QX30
Mazda - 3, new CX9 (for the interior)
VW - Golf GTI
Lexus - NX, LC 500
LR - RR Evoque, RR Sport SVR
Lincoln - Continental, new MKZ
Volvo - XC90
Cadillac - ATS-V, XT5, CT6
Tesla - Model S
MB - S class Coupe AMG
Audi - RS 5
BMW - X1, M2, M4, X5 M, M6
Porsche - current gen Cayman GTS (not 718 version)
Maserati - Ghilbli 4QS
Bentley - GT Coupe

I like way too many cars to come up with a list of my top three but I will say that the 488 and AM are definitely in my top 50....the I8 doesn't do as much for me and it looks a little garish to me....like something out of TRON.

Maybe an R8? ....really depends on the price point. Heck I even like the BMW M4...
