My voice to text, which I use a lot, doesn't seem to be registered via my Android Samsung S7, and this problem has appeared before with other phones. Is that on Jag or the phone, and anyone figure out workarounds? The call volume/voice works, but it won't "listen" to spoken words when attached to bluetooth.

Are you using Google Voice? So saying "OK, Google" and then saying something like "Send text to Uncle Fishbits". This works fine for me using my Samsung S7 over BT in the Jag... Need to compare some settings? Just let me know...

I've never been happy with the audio quality of the handsfree plus the seemingly endless connection drops. So, I've resorted to using my old LG headset deal. No more issues.

Suggest after the software updates you go back to the bluetooth. NEVER A PROBLEM for me since then. hopefully this helps.

digging around....

I went into language/input in settings,
then went to google voice typing settings
and there's a toggle switch in there "bluetooth headset: record audio through bluetooth headset if available"
also, in the same setting menu, "hands free" leads to two more toggle switches "for bluetooth devices" and "for wired headsets"

and that did it. It wasn't turned on. lol

The new lot of phones with Bluetooth 5.0 may solve a lot of the range issues.

Not a problem for me as I use the Scosche mount right next to the head unit.

But 5.0 is supposed to reach out to 100'.

On mine, I figured out what was causing the intermittent signal disruption. If I leave the phone in my shirt pocket, I'll lose the signal if my arm covers the phone. Apparently, Bluetooth signals don't go through body mass.

Yes - I have an LG BT headset connected to an old Note 3 phone and set my phone down and can wander 80' away from it and still get Pandora. UNLESS someone walks in front of the phone.

Default iOS 11 - Incontrol fails

anyone else having their iPhone incontrol apps fail after iOS 11 today? Spotify in particular but all kinds of problems staying connected, I think we need an update!

Since iOS 11, music still plays from Spotify but the music info won't show up on the screen and the back/next controls won't work

trying next update to 11.0.1, in 11.0.0 the home screen on inControl worked but Spotify would disconnect after a few seconds but still play. I could restart the app or reconnect the cable and again it worked a few seconds then I got the message you get when you select inControl and did not have your phone connected. I could forward music but no display of the Spotify app. I could however see the song name in the touch scrren but without the app I'd have to change playlist, select random, etc on the phone

I received this response from Jaguar NA who is telling me to go to the dealer, what a waste of time, it is an app that needs an update, not sure when the heck I want to take the time for them to say yep, like you said it does not work!!!:
Thank you for contacting the Jaguar Customer Relationship Center. I appreciate your feedback. We have shared your comments with the appropriate teams.

At this time we ask that you please consult your local Jaguar dealer if you have not already done so. All technical questions, advice and recommendations are handled through our authorized dealer network. Either a parts or services guide will be able to assist. You can locate your closest retailer online at www.jaguarusa.com, under "Locate a Dealer".

If you have any questions or require additional information, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-4-JAGUAR, option 9, or by e-mail.

Sincerely,
Lindsey Ucker

I said:

That is a terrible response. It is clearly a software issue which you KNOW they can’t fix. I’ve worked in software 25 years and this is not something fixed at a dealership. Your app needs an update.

They quickly replied:

Thank you for contacting the Jaguar Customer Relationship Center. We certainly understand your frustration.

In order for Jaguar Cars to obtain accurate readings and concerns, we depend on our retailers to gather supporting documentation for the technical and product teams. Corrections and or updates can only be produced with the assistance of the dealerships and our loyal customers feedback. Together we will continue to produce the best vehicles, both on and off road, as it has since inception.

If you have any questions or require additional information, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-4-JAGUAR, option 9, or by e-mail.

Sincerely,
Lindsey Ucker
