Default V6 and V8 Hood Vents Compatible?

Never noticed this, but it looks like the hood vents on the V6 and V8 are different. I think I actually like the V6 flush design better. The V8 seems to stick out too much. Anybody know if the two are compatible so I can switch them out. Probably wouldn't cause any issues in terms of heat release, water, etc.?

See how the V6 is more flush/mesh and the V8 is more of a cover:

I had the mesh ones, they came with my V6, I switched them out to CF, the CF ones stick out more. I don't know if there is any difference between V6 and V8 but those two are interchangeable on the V6.

Thanks, I think they must be compatible then. The CF ones below (assuming that's what you have) look like the gloss black ones that came with my black pack R. Was it just pop off, snap on? pretty easy installation?

I didn't do it, they are just clips, at the cost of the CF, I didn't want to break at tab, so I had the dealer do it, incase they broke it, it was one them.. lol

I'd imagine someone here prob has a set of the mesh spare if they've upgraded.

Note that the new R (AWD) and S AWD have different vents as well that are pushed out to the sides and are two-piece body color & black.

Shift, they are very easy to change out.... takes a less than a minute. There are tabs that come through the underside of the hood. Push them in, vent pops right off. Just make sure you hold onto the vent from the other side so it doesn't slide down the hood and scratch your paint.

awesome...strangely enough, it's hard to find the mesh V6 version...seems like all the searches on eBay is for the CF or gloss black.

Buick,

This is what I think people are referring to as "mesh" on my base car.

My car no have those...maybe because I have the black pack?
I kinda like the look of yours but prefer mine because no water gets in when washing.

Hard to imagine Jaguar makes so many different louvers.

Those look like the ones in the 1st picture, except maybe its not glossy. But yes, this is what I mean by "mesh". It's not about the actual mesh/grill for me, but the fact that it sticks out. Looks like for 2016 they also went with the more "flush" design across the board.

The water really isn't an issue when washing (or rain for that matter), because it just rolls off the plastic engine cover. After I wash, I almost always raise the hood and wipe things down with a damp microfiber towel to keep things looking spiffy in there.

I have the same "mesh" vent as Foosh, but it's a gloss finish on my S.

Makes sense since the bumper bar and air splitter are gloss black on the S. They are all matte black on the base.
