Default 2013 XJ memory seats

I have a 2013 XJ. I'm trying to determine if the Memory Seats will only recall the forward position, or if they also recall an "exit" position, as well. There's nothing I can find in the manual, so maybe I've answered my own question.

My 2006 XJ had that function and it would be nice if the 2013 did, as well.
Thanx

There is no "Auto" function for seat movement (I've asked the factory why with no reasonable answer) on the current XJ. 2009 was the last XJ to have that feature.

I recommend setting position 3 memorized with the seat all the way back. You can open the door, push 3, get in, then push 1.

ServiceMaster:
A simple, but elegant solution! Thank you very much. I call it a "work around" and am always glad when there is one.

As to the "why"? Often I would be satisfied with an honest answer, such as "too expensive" or "no one likes it" or, whatever. However, I'll posit a "maybe" for this one.

I have a standard XJ and not an XJL. When I pushed the seat back and the steering wheel up as an exit position for memory 3, I realized that if there had been passengers in the rear seat behind me, there may have been cries of pain as the seat pushed mercilessly backwards onto their lower extremities. Not wanting yet another law suit, Jaguar may have decided to eliminate the possibility of foot amputations and went on the side of caution.

Thank you again
Luck

I have just such a 2009 X358. I cannot find any instructions in the manual on how to set the Exit position. Can you point me to a source?

The current Exit position sends the seat to maximum rearward travel (bad news for rear seat passengers) and LOWEST squab height - exactly what my old bones don't want! I want slight rearward travel, highest squab height, maximum squab retract maximum pedal depression & maximum wheel height.

Yes I know I could use memory 3 but that's a very inelegant non-solution.

You cannot set the exit position. It will move a pre-programmed amount.

You can turn it off by rotating the tilt/telescope knob to "Off" from the "Auto" position.

If your seat position is far enough back, the seat won't move on it's own. There is no documentation as to how far is far enough. Move the seat about 3/4 way back and it usually won't move on entry.
