Meaning of ($) in EPC
I have been searching the forums all morning but it's impossible to use the string ($) in a search, so apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.
I downloaded the EPC and installed it successfully (thanks all), but when I search for parts for my 2000 XKR, I frequently get two options, such as:
SECURITY SYSTEM
SECURITY SYSTEM ($)
They have different parts listings depending on which one I select. What does the ($) mean?
I'm trying to get the correct part number for a key fob for my 2000 XKR (purchased with no key fob) but I don't know the mhz for the US.
Thanks!

The $ symbol in JEPC is for US market specification.
The Security System is an example of separate US specification listing. Europe uses 433mhz; a number of other markets, including the US use 315mhz BUT the US also has further differences in the allowable functions of the Security System hence a separate listing.
You require a 315mhz remote. The P/N depends on the VIN.
