Default Re-programming computer

I have a 1999 Vanden plas. I want to hack/re-program the computer to prevent it from putting the motor into 'limp mode'. I don't mind seeing the display on the instrument cluster indicating 'reduced performance' but I don't want the computer to actually effect the performance. I have had several 'mystery' interventions by the computer and, by the time I limp to my mechanic, he can't tell what the problem was because the computer has no memory. I trust myself to monitor engine health and don't want the 'limp' feature. How hard would it be to get rid of it???

Thanks

Only 2 ways read the codes and fix the problem or sell the car!

Welcome to the forum kenwenman,

No more to be said about this than what Gus has told you in post #1. You can't make progress without reading the codes.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see.

In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.
