Default Sat Nav Update

Hi 2008 XF 2.7 TD owner here.
Sat Nav still running off the original discs I need an update. I've tryed to follow links to websites which do a cheaper version or a used disc which is still more up to date than my 08/09 disc but I can't get them to load are these shut down for legal issues or something?

I refuse to buy an update DVD that costs more than a brand new sat nav any ideas on how I can update my sat nav (even just up to 2012 ish dont need to be bang up to date) for less than the cost of a night with a supermodel quality hooker.

Navteq controls the rights, and price for those discs. Your best options are Ebay, Craigslist, or this forum for a used one.

I purchased a DVD from this site - Eunavmaps Latest Software GPS DVD Europe Navigation Maps

It seems to have booted (15 minutes and a cup of tea) quite happily after I ignored a warning that I needed a firmware update. The maps are installed and it appears happy. My previous disc was 2006, now 2013/14.

Cost - €42.

That 15 minutes WAS the firmware update. It's included on the map data disc and runs automatically when the new disc is inserted.

Great thanks for the info. God knows how Navteq get away with pricing them circa £200 and even more unbelievable they obviously have plenty of takers at this price.

On a separate but related note I've noticed people selling the spare discs out of the original Navigation DVD box i.e the ones that don't do the UK (They contain the maps for all the other European countries) on ebay and getting decent money for them even the old ones. Is there any reason I shouldn't do this? Is there any reason to keep them?
