Hi, My name is Chriss. I have upgraded my X-type MY2005/2006 2.2D LHD with premium sound alpine as Cambo 351 did except mine upgrade was all jag alpine set of speakers and amp. I did all except wiring harness to the front of the car (the one that ends with blue connectors and connets to CA230 for doors speakers). Unfortunatelly when I tried to test my amp with subs only, it did not work at all. I have connected amp to 30A power and ground from trailer 3pin socket in the trunk, checked if power is there(positive test) and orange D2B boot cable tried took from both phone harness as well as from CD changer but amp and subs did not make any sound. D2B connectors were perfectly connected boot to boot, amp to amp and phone to phone. I have also checked if D2B is well connected to radio unit just in case. My radio unit is cd without touch screen. Amp, subs and speakers are from 2006 car same MY as mine. Is there any chance that this upgrade requires also software upgrade to work? Is may CD player may not be the right one to support amp? What else can I check to make sure everything is OK. One more question when I connect amp to power should radiatotr in the amp start? Mine is not turning and if this can be a sign of amp is broken? I have tested optic fiber from front to the boot with light and fiber optic seems OK passes light perfectly through both wires to the boot. What can I do more to test amp? Please help.
