Default Removing glue off of inside rear window

I recently bought a 2004 XJ8 and the previous owner removed a decal or sticker from the inside rear window, about 4 inches square, leaving the glue residue on about 4 of the defroster elements (lines). How do I remove the residue without damaging the elements.

The heating element is first screen printed onto the glass and then fired on during the annealing process so it's fairly robust. (I used to run a plant manufacturing auto glass many years ago).

Your wife's nail varnish remover on a soft cloth should clean any adhesive residue off.

I have an adhesive remover pad with the following ingredients, will the small amount of silica be an issue? Thank you very much for your response.

Prep-Pad saturated with 70%
isopropyl alcohol and 0.01% precipitated silica

The 0.01% precipated silica content will be present as a very mild abrasive. Allow the solvent to do the work without rubbing too hard.

Thanks again for your help and I will tread lightly and wipe off gently often with a mf towel.
