Default Jaguar 1/4 mile Drag Racing Standings

There's a bunch of members that run their Jaguars at the drag strip. I thought there should be an official thread with a collective list of times run by forum members with all models included.

If you want your run added, here's the format:

ET@ mph, Street or Drag tires, Member name, Year and model, Link to thread/timeslip/video

Any other suggestions?

UPDATED 21st November 2019 - cheers, Cambo
p.s. i got tired of updating all of the rankings every time so now the list is split into 10s, 11s, 12s & 13s

Did a bit of research and here's a list of runs I came across to get started. I'll edit this first post as times get submitted.

Good post,

This will separate the talk-ers from the do-ers.

Step up the the plate boys or pull up a chair

I suggest we also list all mods that yielded improvements too.

My car "before" mods ran 13.839 @ 101.61 on street WaterDragon 2002 xjr 4.0
"after" 13.233 @ 105.34 street tires video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWSRk...ature=youtu.be

How about if we classify tires as : streets, street slicks, drag slicks ?? Street slicks should be radial tires.

Default 1/4 mile standings

Or maybe get a "special" Jag, like this guy

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/103069...guar-xj-series

In polite english, I think he may be stretching the truth.

Including all the mods might be too long for a list. I guess the mods would be in the link to the run. We could make a quick note- stock or modified. Perhaps gas octane. Maybe weight; although not sure if most people will know the exact weight.

a good set of slicks will find the weakest link in the drive train, if you have enough torque!

Yes, but so will wheel hop.

Does anyone know at what HP/TQ things start to fail? U-joints, rear end gears, etc?

In my case U-joints could be the first things. Modified MB tranny should be bulletproof, as well as Quaife LSD. If TC has stock stall speed , you can not get really fast starts and TCU lowers torque on shifts. Let's see next summer...

I think lowering torque during shifts is a good thing.

Really good time with "just" 115MPH. It's quite diffucult to see numbers on your attachment. What was your 60ft?

So, I somehow missed this thread. I've updated my garage to indicate my best time of the season, 12.424. I'm still running the Yokohama tires that came on the car when I bought it.
