Rename the US-Lower Atlantic thread?
My feelings won't be hurt if the answer is no but, it seems really odd to me that in the regional section for US, the Southeast is listed as Lower Atlantic. Maybe i don't get out much but I've never heard of the area referred to as such. Gulf states maybe but that excludes TN, KY and the Carolinas. It'd be great if the thread was called US-South as it throws me off every time. But, maybe that's just me.

The forum Regions include 3 Regions for the East Coast of the US:
1. NORTHEAST - ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NJ, NY, PA
2. MID ATLANTIC - MD, VA, DC, DE, WV
3. LOWER ATLANTIC - NC, SC, FL, GA
The US Census Bureau combines our REGIONS 2 and 3 as the SOUTH ATLANTIC States.
I understand the designation GULF STATES is given to TX, LA, MS, AL, FL. This includes States from the forum SOUTHWEST (TX), SOUTHERN MIDWEST (LA, MS, AL) and LOWER ATLANTIC (FL).
Both SOUTH ATLANTIC and GULF STATES are larger groupings than we have now.
The purpose of 'our' Regions is to simply aggregate areas where events etc will be of interest to those living within them. In many cases it facilitates members meeting up or sharing information only relevant to their location.
I'm interested to hear if others find the present forum Region names confusing.
