Default Mark IX Brake Fluid Pressure?

Does anyone know what the design was for the brake fluid pressure at the calipers for older Jags. I have a gauge and read 800 lbs max which is not stopping the car worth a hoot.

I checked the Jag service Manual and no mention of it.

Jagbird, I don't know the specific pressure, but I had a 1961 MKIX and it did have a vacuum assist to boost the brake pressure. The MK IX's are a big beautiful car, an older car with four wheel disc brakes.

There are two master cylinders. The one activated by the pedal sends fluid to the second cylinder mounted on the brake servo under the Right front seat mounted inside the frame rails.

If the brake servo isn't working, stopping the car will take longer and need a real big push ! These are very heavy cars. So you need to check out the servo.
