Mine looks like the proverbial dog's breakfast. And after 50 years, all colour coding has long since gone. This part of the restoration I'm not particularly looking forward to!
Does any one know if auto wiring has a use by date? No point I guess in mucking around with it if all the copper cores are oxidised.

The wires were probably cut because that is the easiest way to strip it. I have wired hundreds of hot rods from scratch (my preferred method) and wire does not have a "use by" date..lol. It really isn't as hard as everyone make it out to be. Research, study and do one circuit at a time until you get comfortable with it

It is possible to buy new wiring looms for Mark 2s and other 60s Jaguars. All the connectors are reproduced and the lovely braiding covering the wires. Two looms run through the sills each side. If you remove them, make sure you pull through a tracer wire or string when punning them out, to get them back later !

Years ago I adapted a Silvia wiring loom to my Datsun 1600 (P510) had a doner Silvia (240sx) that i used the engine from, and then decided o use the whole wiring loom, got extra features like modern wipers, central locking, wiring for efi fuel setup etc, was suprisingly easy, a few places it needed shortening/lengthening, but was a cheap and easy option.
That radiator looks like it was meant to be, how'd you come across that?

Paint stripper works nicely to remove the factory sound deadener. after the stripper is applied, cover the wet stripper with plastic wrap ( glad or saran), and leave it sit for longer than recommended on the stripper instructions. Keeping the air away from the stripper allows it to continue to softer the deadener.
Finished underhood is Lizzard Skin ceramic. The tunnel is a waffle high heat foil backed with fiberglass insulation. It came with a high heat adheasive backing.

Transmission lines plumbed to radiator and cooler. Motor mounts finished and standard tight fit headers don't. I see Sanderson's in my future. Cold air intake fabricated($48). Shifter bracket and arm made for XJ6 shifter. Getting cold here now so I will have to pace these old bones!

wish it was warmer... I hate to walk to the garage. My parts truck grill came in and has been replaced and my wife's Tahoe/Yukon grill ordered. Picked up a FREE powder coat system and looking for an oven. Parts to rebuild a couple of 10si alternators sourced. I guess I am getting something done. ECTA member ship paid #9269
