Default New to Jags

Hello all - I'm new to all this. I've just bought an XJ Sport in Pacific Blue which is in great condition and I already love it. It is not an everyday ride - I'm going to be keeping it for high days and holidays.

I've got a few Qs - apologies if this is the wrong place.

Glad to be part of this elite group

    Hello, Jay,
Congratulations on your 'new' Jaguar! Pretty Car!!

I've never known of a key fob that set off the alarm merely by unlocking the doors unless the user accidentally pressed the wrong button.

There are no drum brakes on Jaguars for the last several decades; special calipers grip the rear discs. They very often don't work well in the best of circumstances. I don't even use mine.

Now for the bad news; fan noise is almost never because of stuff rattling around in the duct work. It's almost always indicative of a fan motor that needs lubricating. And if one is doing this, the other won't be far behind.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

    Thanks everyone

I find with the key/key fob, If I open with the key I have seven seconds to get the key into the ignition and turned, before she blows... (even if it had been locked by the key)

    I realise I am confused. Between 'jaguarforum.com' and 'jaguarforums.com'

    Which is the best??
