Question Newbie first Jaguar X350 where on earth is water washer bottle motor?

Hi folks,
My name is Mick and I am in Alsager which is halfway between Stoke and Crewe. For the last 8 years I have had a Mercedes C220 which recently was written off. Now in all honesty for many years I have been a Jaguar admirer so 3 weeks ago whilst searching for Merc E270 I came across a 2006 Jaguar XJ sovereign 2.7 lwb X350 in black and so after a journey involving 3 trains I ended up buying it. All was fine for the first 2 weeks and it is a beautiful ride but 2 days ago noticed 3 problems within hours, the first problem was virtually no water coming out of the window washers although the headlight washers are fine! I blew the pipes through from a joint by the filler cap and it seemed clear and blew the other side of the joint that goes through the body and I can hear the water bubbling. The next thing was was to check the pump motor in the water bottle eeerrr where on earth have they hidden it?? The filler neck goes into the body but after 2 hours tearing my hair out I still can't find it! So please can the person who is going to prove me a proper plonker please speak up I simply cannot find it HELP please!

Welcome.

No idea where they hid it on that model.

A quicky repost of the question in the X350 section will have a flood of answers.

Thanks Jim,
what a job! Got it sorted in the end after finally cleared the gunge out of the water bottle and eventually got the line cleared between the bottle and the wipers. Then the other motor for the headlight washers finally arrived but it was the wrong one so I had to adapt the electrical connection and the water outlet but finally done so thanks everyone for all your advice and welcomes, but I still can't understand what possessed Jaguar to hide it where it is. Next job is try to sort out why the folding mirrors don't fold then then try to find out why when I go over a pot hole the message comes up "air suspension faulty" not a very good start but maybe the limited warranty will cover part of of the suspension if it requires dampers or compressor.

Mick,

Many members buy used Jaguars where the PO's have put up with minor faults instead of getting them repaired. This often disappoints the new owner but once you get them sorted and the vehicle running correctly it will be a pleasure to own and drive.

Hi Jim
Yes I agree but the strange thing is that it has had one owner from new and full service history (stamps on card) at Jaguar garages until the end of 2013 and a pile of service receipts no expense spared until the end of 2013 again all at Jaguar garages. It looks like the garage owner has been using it because after the last stamp in Dec 2013 there weren't any more stamps until the garage I bought it from did a service and Mot in August 2015 and between the time another 19,000 miles had been out on the clock.
